D44 Cover Bolts

Does anyone know the bolt size(s) used to attach a D44 cover to the pumpkin.

Getting started on a conversion and noticed I forgot the bolts for the cover/batwing:smash::rofl:

Thanks!

The bolts are 8 X 1.25 and I'd use 30/35mm long bolts with maybe an 8 -10 mm shoulder rather than an all thread which you could find. Nothing real fancy, SS isn't required and 8.8 or 9.8 I think is OK.

I believe the housing is 13 -15 mm thick and the threads are something near 25mm deep in the housing I'd buy a set of metric thread chasers, real cheap at Sears. The threads in the housing are created from a "tri-obal" bolt that is self threading, a one time only required assembly line procedure. Chase them before assembly.

if I remember right I ended up using 30mm long and the shoulder will be at the right length when using a flanged shoulder bolt. I ran a real tap through it to ensure the threads were actually cut, and not just a chaser. I forget now if stock was class 9.8's or 10's bolts, you can find them at auotzone in the packaged bolts by dorman, or go to a real bolt outlet/mfg, (here is darling/mfg, or suburban).

I ran into the same thing with my conversion. Vipers run the same diff. If you want it to look OE, and the tri-cut bolts, then order the cover bolts for a Dodge Viper, and they are the right size and black like the originals. Just call the Dodge dealer. Hope that helps.
