The National Muscle Car Association, the most recognized muscle car series in the US, is pleased to announce that it will host a very special C4/C5/C6 Corvette Shootout at its Bowling Green, Kentucky, event May 1-3, 2009. Everything Corvette can be found in Bowling Green - the National Corvette Museum and GM’s Corvette plant.

The NMCA’s C4/C5/C6 Corvette Shootout will be a special “event within an event,” at the NMCA’s Bowling Green, KY, motorsport show. The Shootout will attract the fastest turbocharged, supercharged, nitrous-powered and naturally aspirated Corvettes from around the county to compete on a national stage. They will join the NMCA’s already large base of muscle car racers and enthusiasts. Other exciting features of this NMCA event include a huge auto show and shine, a giant manufacturers’ midway/swap meet and a 300+ mph jet car!

The Corvette Rumble class will pair C4, C5, and C6 Corvettes against each other in an all-inclusive index-style race format. C4 Corvettes will all run together on Saturday as a group. C5 and C6 Corvettes will also run together in their respective groups. This will build a team atmosphere for each generation of Corvette competitor. Sunday class eliminations will mix together all Corvette Rumble competitors to race each other for the class championship.

Corvette Rumble Class Payouts and Awards:

Winner: $2,000 + Jacket + Plaque + TBD Grand Prize
Runner-Up: * $1,000 + Plaque

The C6 Corvette is arguably the finest muscle car ever produced by the Big Three. The C5 Corvette is revered as the modern day ’69 Camaro because of its awesome power, affordability, and huge value. The C4 Corvette ushered in a completely new era of Corvette performance and appearance. C4/C5/C6 Corvette owners are proud, passionate, and they like to lay claim to their exploits…especially on the Corvette forums!

Yeah I hear ya but from my understanding there will be no drag racing at the c5/c6 bash at the museum. I think the museum canceled all drag racing for this year
