2010 Camaro

Will the new camaro have a ls3 engine as the base corvette, and if so will it have the same performance as the ls3 vette?

I wouldn't be surprised if the Camaro LS3 had slightly less hp/tq than the Corvette LS3 due to different exhaust manifold and exhaust design - perhaps a different cam and intake manifild too, which I believe is why the previous generation L98 (1987-1992), LT1 (1993-1997) and LS1 (1998-2002) Camaro's put out slightly less power than their Corvette counterparts. I think the difference would be negligible, but vehicle weight will be a big issue.

The new Camaro has 422 HP vs Vette's 436 HP. About the same.

The big difference is approx 3800 lbs vs approx. 3300 lbs.

However, you can buy a body in white, and build a race car.
