Longacre probe-type pyrometer: http://www.longacreracing.com/catalo...id=200&catid=7
You can find them for $90-$100 if you look. |

I sucked it up and bought the model that does IR and probe. Saves carrying two pieces of equipment around. |
Definitely get one with the probe!

Thanks for the replies. After looking at the Longacrer web site I am leaning toward the #50682 http://www.longacreracing.com/catalo...id=193&catid=7
I wanted to be able to store the readings. |
I use a pen and paper for that! :-)

I would get a recording one so it is fast and easy to get the temps. Playing with a pad and pencil is :ack: when in a rush or short handed. I find it is better to wait than under buy and then be dissatisfied.

I agree, get one that records all 12 readings.....you'll thank yourself in the long (and likely short) run. If you write by hand, you'll inevitably invert positions, and end up scratching your head trying to remember what went where.
Infrareds are great also for certain tracks and conditions, but unless you come straight into the pits HOT, then the data isn't very accurate |
