Forza 2 ... Sunday March 15th, 10A EST ... Racing Series II

Well Last Sunday was a blast, so it's time to plan next weekends BIG Race ...

From 9:30A to 10:00A practice ... then I will set up the race for 10:00A start.

Please reply to this thread if you are interested ... and post your Trueskill Rank ... Greg and I will try to set the car levels for as equal a race as possible.

Here are the details! ...

Track: Mugello

Laps: 25

Advanced Rules:

Damage Type: Limited (You will feel some of the affects of damage to your car - encourages you to drive within your limits!)

Tires and Fuel: Simulated (During the race, you may need to pit to refuel or change tires!)

Grid Order: Reverse Trueskill Rank (So the better drivers will start at the back of the pack)

So Corvette Guys will Start with a Z06, and the Porsche Guys will Start with a GT3 RS ... and then make upgrades to the car up to the PI level assigned to them:

1st level driver - can build to 900 (Greg)
2nd level driver- can build to 925 (Peter & Andy)
3rd level driver - can build to 950 (Claus & Phil)
4th level driver - can build to 975 (Mark & Brad)
5th level driver - can build to 998 (Rick & Clayton)

This will keep all cars in the "S" category.

So if you are interested in racing this weekend, let us know, Greg will assign you your level, you build and tune your car then start to practice on the ??? track!

The reason I have not set a track yet, is I wanted to see if the Porsche guys wanted to pick this weekends venue, since I picked last weeks.

I'll post as soon as I hear back from them.

Mark

The levels look fine Mark. Hopefully we can get a few laps in without damage to tell the real lap times we can set so it will be easier to gadge the skill.

I saw a little cute Italian girl today, so my track choice is Mugello. We can test out our German and American auto perfections in the land of the Bulls and Horses. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...cialdriver.gif

Wait a second.. I thought we were demoting Greg to an 850 level car. :D

Don't worry Greg, if I can figure out how to make it through the pack unscathed I'll try and give you some competition this week.

OK ... So the Porsche guys have selected "Mugello" for our BIG race on Sunday ... so get your car prepared and tuned ... and let's try to minimize the damage we cause to each other

sometimes having the slower car is better in the long run. After everyone races to the first corner I basiclly just have to watch out for the people coming back on the track.

I had the fastest car (thanks Mark ) on a very technical track, but never having driven this track posed a new level of difficulty, read, sorry about the paint Mark,,,,,,,,

It was a blast and recommended for all,,,,:thumbs:

Greg,

Thanks for rebalancing the levels ... I guess our goal is to keep moving up the levels until we all reach level 1!

True:cheers:

I think the goal would be to have the majority of the pack fairly close,we know Claus and Andy will always be fast no matter what they drive,I will be very happy just to not have a DNF,:rofl::rofl:,and never expect to be fast, not enough years left,,,,,,,:rofl:,but it is a lot of fun,:thumbs:,imagine if we had a full field with the majority of drivers in the same times,,,,,,it would almost be like a real race, cause the best driver(s) do not always win the race,,,,,,,,,,,,,
(dreams of his first drink of milk at indy,)

I thought you guys were posting a replay. We need to see who turned me and caused a wreck before turn 1. They get to drive the garbage truck next week!

I watched it a few times.

To me it looked like lag. From your's and everyone else view point Cluase hits u on the ass but 2nd sec later you go off the track.
From Claus's car you cut across into his path and it spins you both out.

Watching the telemety, your car is dead on, no problems. Of coarse your using a wheel. Claus it using a game pad and I see the steering telemetry go haywire for a split second.

Honesty think the 1st bump was the cuase of the game pad and it took the computer a sec to register the hit and then it send you off.

The game pad is very rudamentery, left to right to center in less then a milisecond. The wheel is very controlled and you can carve through smoothy but going from full left to right and back to center would take at least a full second. The pad can make changes in miliseconds while the wheel can't. The pad is superior to the wheel, but just isn't realistic. I doubt games will ever be able to make up for the pad advantage but the wheel is what I would choose to use. Havnn't seen anyone use a pad to drive a car yet.
