LMR Warhawk 440 TT W/4L80 Build

I am currently starting the build on my 2008 C6 Coupe. All my parts are starting to arrive and we should start putting the car together over the next few weeks so figured I would share some pics of the build as it progresses. My car started out as C6 A6 3LT car, lucky me I get to start with one of the heaviest vettes there is.Upon purchasing the car I took it to Late Model Racecraft and had a cam,Procharger D1sc, AFR headers, maganaflow exhaust,Ron Davis Radiator, and meth system installed-car dynoed 640 rwhp. After I got it all done I decided it wasnt enough(who all here has heard that?) so I decided instead of adding this part and that part to my current set up I decided I would just take the car apart and build my idea of the ultimate street car. Prior to the build I had already installed the front rear wide body kit( I know alot of people criticize the C6 with Z06 bodies, but I like the looks of the Z06 but didnt want to pay another 20k for a car I was going to replace everything on any) and I had the big stoptech brakes added to the car.

We are currently installing the following on the car:
440 warhawk motor by LMR
ALL Pro Cylinder heads
LMR TT Spec Camshaft
LSXR Manifold(when it becomes available)
APS twin turbos(upgraded kit)
Full RPM 4L80 conversion with rearend

There are quite a few mods being done to the car and I will post pics and descriptions as they become available.

I shot pics of the short block friday and will post more as we progress. I am going to try to really get some good pics of the 4L80 conversion so I show what all has to be cut to make it fit.

Hers some pics of short block:

what hp are you looking for, is this a drag type car or a 1 mile car?? The build sounds nice you will have what all the big hitters have for sure.

Hoping to get in 1200hp range. My goal for the car is multi purpose. It will before anything else remain a street car. It will see some 1/4 mile action and eventually it will see the Texas Mile, being that the mile is not far from me.

Nice. I beleive steven called me when you were there to ask about the 4l80e we had done. You car should run VERY good when done.

EdwardETraylorIII 03-14-2009 05:55 PM

RCC,

With that warhawk AND a 4L80... You'll be the guy to beat on the dyno AND at the strip when you turn the wick up and put a 200 shot on it! :)

I have very high expectations.

Don't we all?

That's why we're here. :)

You should hit 1,400 RWHP on Nitrous and C16 with your setup........ I doubt you'll make any more than that through that tranny and with a Hyd Roller camshaft.

With that being said - if you can hook that level of power at the strip, then you'll be the first C6 in the 7's.

The trick is - will you actually have the sticktoitiveness to get the car there? Most guys that embark on your journey get discouraged by the setbacks that are associated with a project as large as yours and either give up or just sell the project............

I am new to vettes but I know exactly what your saying on having the patience to see this project to completion. My last project was a 1100 rwhp twin turbo dodge diesel truck.

Heres a few vids on it:

Should be a monster for sure! I know you have talked to some of the others here with big builds and I have to say that the setbacks on these builds don't have to be all that bad.

You waited long enough to learn what it takes to get this build done right. I think you will be happy with everything in your build list except for the APS Turbos if you are trying for more than 1100rwhp.

If you want more, you are going to need bigger turbos (IMO) than the 35r's.

Good luck on the build and can't wait to see what it turns out. BTW what gearing did you go with in the 4L80? With a 3.42 and standard gear ratios I think you will top out at like 227 in the mile. Keep that in mind on the build.
