Apply Rejex: what to remove old wax. Dawn? Simple Green?

I'm going to REJEX my C6, but first want to remove all the wax. REJEX said to use Dawn, but will that really remove all the wax? Would Simple Green be too strong? Thanks!

Use Dawn. Simple Green is potentially too caustic.

Dawn and then clay.

:iagree: Yes, Dawn will remove the wax. You may also want to consider doing a clay bar then wash with Dawn again.....not absolutely necessary just another good cleaning step. ;)

Simple Green also makes a car wash compound.

Dawn will work well and its alkalinity will neutralize any acid rain residues in your paint as well.

Zaino recommends Dawn dishwashing detergent for it's alkalinity as Shineshop mentions above. Zaino states this right in their instruction sheet.

See attached pic below. Look at step 2. in the process.

I used Dawn and Ice liquid clay to remove everything before the Zaino went on. I sprayed the Dawn/water mix on and applied the liquid clay with it. I know many will bad mouth the Ice liquid, but it worked great for this as well as on a friends black C6 to get the finish clean and slick. Much easier than clay, maybe not as effective but still good enough depending on what you want to accomplish.

That was helpful. I'll take some photos when done.

Any dish soap will take most of it off.

I have used Dawn for several years. Seems to work good with no ill affects that I can tell. I just use it about two times a year. After washing then clay bar, polish, glaze and final wax.

How much Dawn per gallon of water?

C-INRED 03-24-2009 07:34 PM

Dawn and clay are probably the best, but I use that on my car that has Rejex once or twice a year and it does not take off the Rejex! I have no idea what does.

Sorry but in spite of what you might have been led to believe this isn't rocket science.

Pour some in the bottom of the bucket, foam up with the hose and go for it. Just rinse well and dry quickly. Just don't wash it in the sun.

OK, what is Rejex? :bigears
