66 power brake convert single well to double well
Does anyone know what to do to convert the brakes in a 66 vette from a single well 1 line to all brakes to 2 well double line for front and back brakes
thanks mike |
If you already have power brakes, you should have the dual master cylinder. The manual brakes had a single master and the power brakes had a dual master from the factory in '65-66. If you have manual brakes and want to convert to power with a dual master cylinder, there are several places that sell conversion kits. They use a '67 style dual master cylinder, and the kits work great. I converted my '66 manual brake single master to a dual with a kit, and it was fairly simple.
If you want to convert and use a correct '65-66 dual master cylinder, be prepared to pay. Those master cylinders are rare and not being produced anymore. |
