Forced Vette holiday

I am facing a forced layoff from driving my 99 :toetap:

I have to go under the knife for back surgery tomorrow.
The last surgery lasted for about 17 pain free years.....hope I get that much mileage out of this tune up :D

Those of you who are fellow sufferers know of what I speak. Just as long as it allows me to make the Caravan in August

Hey man, good luck, I know what you are talking about, haven't been under the knife, yet, but in treatment now for constant lower back problems/pain, lower lumbar, probably going to force me to retire, but that's good. :yesnod:

Take care, and let us know when you're back with us.

I know your pain,
I had 2 disks removed and replaced with metal cages 7 years ago.
I still have pain and numbness in one leg, but it is livable where before the surgery i would sit up in a chair all night with my knees in my chest.

Good luck and here is to a fast recovery.

Thanks for the support.

Guess I could do a How To.......but getting the pics might be a bit of a trick :D

Actually the last time I had the original surgery done it was pretty easy and I woke up with NO PAIN

Which was a vast improvement :)

Best of luck with your surgery! I developed lower back/leg pain and found out I have a heriated disc and stenosis causing tightening around the nerve giving me 4 months of severe leg pain. I just had an injection to relieve stenosis/pain killer and steroid. It seems to be working.
Take care of yourself-you'll be doing the wave before you know it.

I had lower back surgery two years ago. Doctor told me no driving for one week. I hope this surgery goes as well for you as your last one.

I feel your pain Jim. 20 years flying ejection seats took its toll:rofl:

Best of luck with the surgery. Think positive; you'll get plenty CF time during R&R:thumbs:

Sounds like me, I had a herniated disc in L 4-5 seventeen years ago when I had my first surgery. I was lucky in that I had micro surgery to remove a bit of the bad disc. Only a 3/4" incision required and I was walking the next day. Lasted about 15 years !
Then about two years ago my left leg began to have a growing ache during the day.......the MRI showed stenosis in the same L4/5 site. I wanted my surgeon to just go back in and remove the stenosis. But my insurance company required non surgical methods tried first.:toetap: So I have been through physical therapy, oral steroids, and finally two steroid injections in the L4/5 area. None of these worked for long :ack:
SO finally the insurance gave in and OKed the surgery.
Once again it will be micro surgery with a small incision. Hopefully the recovery will go at least as well as it did in 92.

Thanks again for all the positive thoughts......heading for the hospital in an hour :leaving:

Jim

Best of luck and God speed in your recovery.

We love our Vettes, however they are not user friendly when it comes to any kind of injury. I tore up my ankle in December and was on crutches. The Vette was on the battery tender....:toetap:

Good Luck and I hope you have a speedy recovery
