Do you have an anti corvette wife

What i mean is if you have a big money repair does she moan about it.when you need to take her car because its snowing do you hear "why cant you have a normal car" things like that.my gal is a great one but shes a little anti corvette when things go wrong, can anyone relate to this...i got her to accept 100 plus dollar oil changes but it kinda ends there how about you.......

Drewstein 04-22-2009 02:35 PM

I did until I bought her a C5. Now she understands.

My GF sees the Vette as being in the way of a diamond ring but she otherwise likes it, lol...

Not anymore!

INTRUBL 04-22-2009 02:44 PM

Don't tell her nothing, works for me :smash:.

Gideon's_Test 04-22-2009 02:46 PM

My wife was ambivalent about cars in general till I bought the Vette...This car she likes...

That's what works for me as well. Also she has her money, and I have mine. You learn that after a couple of marriages. I don't tell her $hit. And she don't ask.

My cure was getting her a C6 and all is fine:cheers:

She says: It's too low. It's too noisy. It is too hard to get into and out of. She hates it - but that's OK.

She drove it once back in January 2004 and has only ridden in it a couple of times after that. That's OK too. It's MY CAR and I love it!!!

Oh yeah - she has a 2001 Deville that I have spent over $2,000 on in the last 6 weeks for front brake rotors/pads, both front window regulators and right front wheel bearing assembly. 60,000 mi.

I have spent a total of $160 on the Vette maintenance since new (only oil changes) - 17,000 mi. (A lot more on appearance mods though).

Nope, I have the perfect Vette wife and she's smokin' hot too :) She woke me up on my birthday a few months ago and said to me "Lets go get you something fun". We came home several hours later with my black '04 C5 Coupe. Yeah, she's that cool. She keeps pointing out wheels she wants me to get and exhausts that she likes the sound of. She helps me wash it sometimes and likes going to car events. Every once in a while I let her drive it to work and she always comes home with a big beautiful smile plastered on her face. I got an expensive synthetic oil change in the Vette and she wanted it in her car. Don't get me wrong she's not spend happy, we don't do credit cards and only use cash, but when we do have some extra...she comes up with the best ways to spend it. Did I mention she was cool. :D

I think mine is the best. She actually has all the shows planned out for this year.
Sometimes it seems she is more into the cars then me.
We have a 97 and a 73 so she gets to drive the 97 to the shows.

CUlookin 04-22-2009 03:21 PM

My gf loves the vette just as much as I do!

Polar Jet 04-22-2009 03:25 PM

My wife is pro-Vette but anti-loud exhaust. I just ordered up some Borla Stingers. It will be interesting to say the least! How does the Zepplin song go... Good Times Bad Times...

$100+ oil change?????????????????

How do you manage that?

It costs me under $50 for my 08 Z06

jrose7004 04-22-2009 03:37 PM

She can take it or leave it! As far as spending money on the Corvette, what she doesn't know can't hurt me.

oh1vette 04-22-2009 03:40 PM

Mine not a car gal at all anyway, so the vette does nothing for her. But she knows it makes my day and believes I deserve it...

ALEXAMES 04-22-2009 03:44 PM

I will never be married to someone who tries to control my hobbies. I go to work all day and do what I want. I guess that's why I'm single at 34!

Steph enjoys our vettes as much as I do. She actually makes a list of shows to attend and is always ready to go for a cruise when its nice outside. She also will check the radar to see if any rain is nearby befroe we leave the house. I guess she got that from me.
