IMO Steel City Grey is one of the best C3 colors ever. Combined with a black interior that is going to be a sweet ride. Looks like SSG is the original color from the side vent pic.

Please keep the pictures coming.

Your car is going to look beautiful in SSG, keep us updated with plenty of pics. What steering wheel is that, I am looking for the same one. Where can I get it and how much is it approximately?

Toms82 05-02-2009 06:44 PM

I agree, I always thought steel cities gray was a beautiful color.
Good luck,
Tom

gq82 05-03-2009 12:44 PM

For obvious reasons I also agree SCG is a great color especially since it was what your car was born with .....I see your pic of codes 437 & AC......437 is short for 19437 or sport coupe.....below is a pic of the codes written under the rear deck area on my 71.

Mike said, all in all........... the car is in great shape for its age. almost all the nuts, bolts and screws came off with no hassle except for one wiper door pivot bolt and three rh rocker cover screws.

Nicely done, any draw backs using that citrus strip from what I can see it looks like it works fantastic.

hammadown 05-09-2009 12:22 AM

Its not as strong as the others. But..........it is safer and I can leave it on for at least 24 hours. I have no choice ,I cant take it off any sooner because of work. The red paint job was laid on thick over the factory paint and it takes a while for the CS to work its way down under it. It would be ideal to remove the stripper 15 to 18 hours later but I cant due to work. the second coat got all the way to the bodywork on the bare fiberglass and the bonding seams. I put on the 3rd coat tonight and hope to be done with 90% of the stripping after removing it. the last 10% should be fun

I will be following this thread closely my red 71 is also SCG 988
I am going to have a little fun with it for now but will return it to the original color in the near future.
