Re: Brakes for 84. (gmahone640)

the thing your gonna run into that the bigger brakes will require bigger wheels.

just be aware of that...

check with vette brakes...

you can always install the GS brake upgrade... thats a lot of fun!!! check with http://www.r-dracing.com. Dave is doing some things with brakes on his 84... infact, he is using my old 2 piston 12" rotor setup!!!

I use EBC Greenstuff pads. I like them a lot!!!

Re: Brakes for 84. (bogus)

I installed the GT Rotor Big Brake kit on my 84 along with the braided steel lines. Really imporved braking. Now some guys are offering a kit to put the C5 calipers, rotors etc on early C4 Vettes. I do run the 17" wheels, so expect to upgrade to that if you go with the C5 brakes. You might squeek by with the stock 16" wheels with the GT Rotor kit. (got my kit from Ecklers.) Mid America offers it, Stainless Steel brakes offers an upgrade kit too for the C4.
