Cabin Air Filter

Did a search but no answer to my question - does the passenger cabin air filter suck the air from below or top.

As dumb as I am, I took it out and am not 100% sure which way it goes back in - I would hate to accidentally reverse the direction. And no, I don't have a new one lying around that I could change it with.

Thanks.

from the top - - FYI the OEM one has an arrow showing UP . . .

Mine is the original one and it has no arrows on it. It just has some writing on it including Made in USA.

Look at which side is dirty and that goes on top - replace with a Purolator C-25623 from advanced Auto for ~$11.48. It has a stiff material in the sides and won't wrinkle when you shove it back in. Watch out for the arrow, it may show airflow while the OEM shows direction, opposites - air flows from top down. Airflow should be down oem should be up. If you cleaned the OEM and replaced, you may have wrinkled the sides? $11.48 for a charcoal impregnated filter is cheap enough to replace often. I put in the Purolator for $11.00 and it has an arrow on it pointing up. I stuck my hand in there with fan on and the airflow is going up. It is not sucking it down as I thought it would be from windshield:lurk:.

The air flow is top to bottom, guaranteed.

The specs on the Purolator website say nothing about charcoal so I called them this morning and was told that the filter for the Corvette does not have charcoal. Where are you getting the information that says otherwise?

What does it exactly say right off the filter that you put in? Is there also and name and part number you can read on it?
