Ten reasons why I like my C4
 

In responce to all the negitive threads and posts about C4's, I will share with you 10 reasons I like my C4.

1. I like My clamshell hood.
2. Its paid for.
3. Paid 35K for it new. 1989. Now its worth 2K. (forum estimates).
Dont have to worry about any one wanting or stealing it.
4. I like my L98 truck motor. I like low end torque. I dont have no
desire to race somebody.
5. All my friends and family like my C4.
6. My C4 gets me into the forum here.
7. I like my atari dash.
8. Its a convertible.
9. No air bags.
10. Its very reliable and gets good gas mileage.

Since I dont try to impress people with my vette, it suits me fine.

And, I aint a RUB.

Mike, The people here who give such low values only give it to other peoples cars. "Their cars" are the ones that are worth all the money!:lol: What exactly is a "truck motor"? You mention it alot but I don't know why or what it is?

I'll be glad when I reach #2 on your list :D. An for #3..... That makes me sick :lol:

Many guys who speak positively of C4's are getting tired of all the moaning and complaing from a few here and decide to move on. It's a real shame because they had some good topics and information.

corvette Mike.. I too have an 89 vert, I just bought it, about 5K .. reason I like it .. makes me feel like a king when I drive it with the top down....

Only here on this forum will you hear that L98's are a truck based engine. Back in those days, Chevrolet used the truck bottom end because it was stronger than car engine bottom end. Chevrolet used a truck engine bottom end and put a crossfire or tuned port set up on the top. The later vettes 92 and up have engines that were designed as a corvette motor.

For many years, Corvette engines were truck based engines with a different top end. Thats how Chevrolet built them. Maybe only the old timers remember this.

I have an L98 and I absolutly like it. I like the low end torque because my car is a DD and its nice for city driving which I do. It doesnt have the wonderful opti either. I also like the look of the TPI.

I like this site. Im just burned out on all the negitive posts about C4's.

I enjoy the hell out of my C4 and thats all that matters. plus the wife likes it :D

HAHA!! No joke every time a girl ask what i drive i say corvette and they think im lieing! Then they see the car and think its like a $50000 car! lol Its actually kinda annoying i like the girls that know somethin about cars!

I dont give a damn what people say about my C4, its all mine AND its a Corvette no matter how you look at it and the guys who are usually talking smack are driving some foreign pos. I find most corvette owners respect each other no matter who is driving what.

Not been here as much lately, partley because of bashing.
If someone needs info about what to buy or consider buying in a C4, some LT1 and LT4 people come swooping in and trash every year except their's. It's just not worth having if you don't have an LT1 or 4.
Now I know this is NOT the case for most of 1 & 4 people in this forum there are some really nice guy's ready to give good advice and help.
It's just those special people. They bash earlier years like C5 people bash all C4's.
Sorry just my 2 cents.

I have an 84, first year of " the god awful C4's". First and foremost I take statements like that with two grains of salt. It's mine and its paid for, it gives me pleasure to drive it, and for the most part it has been trouble free. It may be the baby of the HP power plants, but if I need to kick it, it gives me enough snort to do what I want.. So I say if you don't like it F***K off.. :thumbs::thumbs::cheers:
