Nitto NT-05
Anyone running the Nitto NT-05 yet on a ZR-1? I am considering them...and would like to hear any feadback or see some pictures of them mounted.

C'mon, somebody's got them. Post up a pic.
I like my GSD's but options are a great thing. |
They suck, look like a bicycle tire instead of a 315 !! :D Just kidding, have no idea.
|
I'd like to see a picture of them stacked next to a set of GS-D3's. Nitto has their section width listed as about a millimeter more than the GS-D3. Although, the GS-D3 has a bout 3 mor millimeters of tread which would make it slightly larger in diameter. So, I think the Nitto should appear fatter...but those foreign tires never do. And, they dont offer a 335 ala Michelin.

I know you asked about the Nitto,,
here is a pic of the Kumho Ecsta's for comparison http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...r/100_1084.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...r/100_1062.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...r/100_1099.jpg |
I don't think you will see the NT05 yet...just released so might be awhile before someone gets a set. Maybe I am wrong...which would be a good thing in this case. I always enjoy this pic...shows just how wide the rear rims are on the ZR-1>>

This is interesting because I was looking at these on Ebay the other day. The 315 GSD3's are almost the same size (width) as a 335. I know when you measure or put a 315 GSC next to a GSD3 the GSD3 is wider. So from what I read from you, your saying the Nitto is even wider then the GSD3? Yes they do make a 335 in the Michelin but they are expensive compared to the Nitto's. Its the PS2 and they are close to $ 430 per tire. |
Overall width from Nitto is 12.4" 7.2/32 tread (no tread width listed)
GSD3 according to Tire Rack Specs Section width is 12.3" and tread width is 11.2" with 10/32 tread 30lbs They have the same maximum load and pressure The Khumo tire above lists the section width at 12.6" and 11.0" tread width and 8/32 depth. But it doesn't look that wide to me. I think I will probably go Goodyear because I will need to be driving this ZR-1 alot more once my Z06 is sold...so I will be in the rain in Houston I am sure. But this Nitto looks like a good choice. I could just drive really slow in the rain. |

Yeah it is on my list too. Where did I see a picture of that one? I must say I am all about the stance of the car on the tires and I know the Goodyear Tires get that absolutely correct. Other brands often seem a little off to mee so I dont want to be the first to find out. That 555 may have been one that I didn't care for.
The khumo's are by far the cheapest though! |

Just ordered a set. Should be here by next wednesday. I'll let you all know what I think once they are installed. Currently running on 8 year old GSC's...can't hook them up!
