Headlight lense cracked

Somehow my drivers side headlight lense looks like it was sabatoged. I know that I haven't hit anything and nobody else drives the car. It looks like a very deep scratch that might be turning into a crack. I checked with the dealer and was told that i couldn't just purchase the lense, I had to buy a complete assembly for $800.00:eek:
I have thought of a smoked cover but that would probably not be watertight if it turns into a crack. I also can't find a smoked cover for the C6.
Any suggestions?

yes, see if rlsebring is advertising anything in C6 Parts, and/or contact him. there is at least one vendor selling carbon fiber-look headlights also.

Sorry to hear about your headlight problem.

The headlight module is not watertight. It has vent holes to keep the air pressure and moisture from building up as the temperature rises and falls.

If you do decide to replace it, get a price from GM Parts House (www.gmpartshouse.com) and they should be able to get you a better price than your dealer did. I've bought parts from them a number of times and even have an order in with them now and think this is a great place to do business with.

I just repainted inside my headlights, there was a guy in Pensacola Fl who sells the oem replacement plastic, I bought a pair and replaced mine because I had to cut out the old ones.

There are a pair on ebay this same moment, item # 150357586410 from the same seller.

Sorry to hear about that, but this is your opportunity to upgrade.
