Katech Clubsport Exhaust
Well this exhaust is one of a kind for sure, this sound is amazing!!!
The weight is very noticeable between the stock one (30 lb less) and the looks are very unique. Is louder that stock but with the butterfly close is more or less the same (in volume not in tone) the "trick" is cruise shifting before 2500 rpm and you will not notice the drone, but if you do the shifting more than that you will hear the drone for sure, just don't pass 2500 rpm... At WOT is another car, just wow. I will upload vids as soon is possible. btw I will go to the dyno tonight just to see if there is some whp with this baby ;) some pics; before http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users1...4769885816.jpg After http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users1...4769906004.jpg Katech emblems on the tips  http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users1...4769917248.jpg |
that is absolutely gorgeous..im sure it sounds like heaven when you are in a tunnel
|
lets see some vids! I'd like to hear it.

It looks good, but I'm confused. Does it incorporate the bypass valve? What does the comment mean about it sounding like the stock exhaust with the valve closed... and shifting before 2500 avoids the drone... These are not easy to understand. Why would anyone want to shift before 2500 unless they are just puttering around. I don't like drone at any speed. Can you elaborate on these statements.
- - edit - - I went to look at the Katech page to answer these questions myself and that made it clear. to wit: "Designed for Katech's lightweight ClubSport Z06 package, the ClubSport exhaust system when combined with x-pipe shaves 30lbs off the stock exhaust while adding an aggressive tone. Deep, yet exotic, the ClubSport exhaust utilizes the factory exhaust baffle system to turn off one side of the exhaust during low rpm cruising. This technology cancels out sound waves which cause drone at low rpm. At 3500rpm, the baffle system opens and exhaust rumbles through high flowing ultra-light Burns Stainless mufflers. Corsa quad tips finish off the system in the rear. The ClubSport exhaust was designed for a car with factory manifolds and catalysts and stock engine internals. Modified engines with aftermarket headers and catalysts will likely have a much louder tone. " |
You beat me to it, I was going to copy and paste the same thing lol... here is a pick of the valve

Would like to know how it compares to the BB fusions? Post a video
|
I wonder if it would drone with LTs and catted mids, and perhaps a cam......
|
The 30lbs is a SUBSTANTIAL savings. Thats like adding 5hp!
|
Nice! You are the man.
I've got a set of Corsas on mine, but have been seriously thinking of going on the waiting list for those. Does anybody know how much of a difference I would see if I made that change, or is it not worth it? While I'm at it, who makes the most power producing exhaust for the newer Zs? |

NICE!!! Well i would like to know more. I would like a pic of all the parts included on the floor. Also i am assuming it is a full 3" system, all stainless (which type), compare to Corsa sport C6 no cats with Stainless work headers, what aftermarket headers do you recommend for this? i am currently at 2.5" exhaust after the headers stop will the 3" make a really deap note? I love my Corsa exhaust (the more higher piched/ exotic) but i drive it everyday and it gets pretty darn loud after a while. Cost?

It would be really sweet if you could make a low battery holder back there between them? This would help free up a compartment!

I have stock exhaust with LT's(cats) and cam and it drones so I would think this would drone also.
