GM Powertrain test my c5z for $500.00 to me?
I got a letter from GM stating that my vin was selected to participate in follow up emission testing.
An independent company ATDS will pick it up drop a loaner full of gas and return it with full gas. http://www.automotivetesting.com/ Anyone ever hear of this? They keep the car for about a week. Loaner is a CTS or Escalade. I called the company ATDS and it sounded legit, a girl explained the program to me. California car. :) |
you pay them 500 or the other way around?
|
they can't do it at the dealer because they all went out of business. :D

I get paid $500. Girl said my miles were a little low (30k) but if they don't find one with higher (50k) they ask epa & carb if it's ok to test mine. She said they may (with my ok) do repairs if needed to complete the test. I should put some roller tires on & give it to them. They would not dyno it with crap tires & I'd get a new oem set. :) |
500 to rent a z for a week is pretty low. :P
I mean, if you trust them and don't mind driving a loaner around for the week... why not? 500 bucks is almost 2 hoosiers! |

We got a similar letter for my GF's Lexus. We didn't bother as we didn't want someone putting the car on an emissions test bed & running the heck out of it. Overall it's probably safe, but I'm not letting them do that to my car without me there.

Me and a buddy both got the letter I was to lazy to send it in but he did and got rejected. They didn't say why.

If you're car has been tuned, they'll probably flash it back stock.
|
I've done this before. They treat the car right and virtually all the miles are put on a chassis dyno.

I got one of those letters like 2 years ago. Never responded.
Wonder why they're still testing... |

A CTS V on the track would be fun. :D I wouldn't let anyone drive my Vette for a week. But I am paranoid and believe in Black Helicopters as well. :D |
