Refinishing The Master Cylinder.
I am going to refinish the master cylinder while detailing the engine bay. Any help on what to use that will hold up to the brake fluid? I want something that will last if it is possible.
Thanks for the help. |

It depends on what you are looking for? For a more or less original look, I would clean it very carefully and if you want to avoid as much paint peeling as possible, paint it with semi-gloss enamel paint. Let it dry for a couple of days before you go putting any new brake fluid in it. Gary

I used Eastwood's Cast Blast on the MC and Steering Box.

I used Cast Blast that I bought at the local Car Quest parts store. I painted both the MC and the steering gear box. They look good and the paint has held up well. I don't have any leaks to worry about. :)

Both master cylinders look good. I guess I will try the cast blast I used on my differential last year.
What did you clean the master cylinder with so the paint would stay. |

Thanks for the tips. I will be getting the supplies ready in the meantime.
