Just saying hi :)

Hey everyone. I just wanted to introduce myself because in the next month or two I will be picking up a used Z06. I've been lurking here for about 8 months but just recently signed up when I knew for sure that I wanted a Z06. I've been looking at a few "fun" cars, everything ranging from a e46 supercharged m3, to a RS4, to a Porsche 996tt. There's just something about the displacement, look, sound, and torque of the Z that keeps me coming back. Did I say torque? I have a 2000 Audi S4 currently that gets me to and from school no matter the weather here in PA (Doylestown/Bucks County area). It's currently Stage 2 with a chip, cat back, upgraded clutch, light weight flywheel and some brake mods like SS lines, slotted/drilled rotors and pads. It sits at about 325hp and 395lb/ft. That with AWD it's a fantastically fun combo. I said I was in school and next week I'll be entering into my senior year as a political science major with a minor in pre-law. I plan on going to law school however it's been a dream of mine to go into SEAL teams since the begining of highschool really. I still have to make up my mind haha. I've worked more than I've legally been allowed and sell everything on ebay in my free time to create extra cash flow. I've made a couple of nice investments in my life and hold my work ethics and strong mentality tightly as to who I am as a person. I know I'm young but I've worked hard for what I have and always will. That and I'm truely blessed to have been given so many opportunities thus far in my life. I realize I might be one of the younger people on this forum but don't brush me off as a normal college student. I'm really looking forward to joining the corvette family/community someday (hopefully sooner than later!) but want to wait for the right car for me to show up. Thanks for taking the time to read this and hope to join you all soon!

P.S. I might be asking some questions about various mods that I can't find via searching and have searched already. This is a great forum with lots of active, knowledgable members and its greatly appreciated by me, and I'm sure many others like me! Thank you!

Welcome to the Corvette Forums. Yep, lots of great people here and the Corvette "BUG" is hard to shake once you get started. Most people are infected for LIFE! I would suggest getting to know people in your area that are already into Corvettes to help with picking the one out for you if you are purchasing used. It can save a lot of pains in the long run.

Best of luck with school and the new Corvette!!!

Welcome to the family. The Z06 is a great choice. Does not matter how old you are!

Thanks for the quick replies! :) Its so hard to ignore the Z06 as an option today because of the value for preformance. It's amazing. Also with how new it is. My next door neighbor has a black on black 2007 Z51 auto that he's done a few things to. I chat with him every so often. He's deffinatly got the bug. Had a vette since the mid 60's! He's a true chevy guy with his camaros and everything too. I don't even have a vette yet and I've got the bug! These are some amazing cars. In the next week I'm going to join CCDV (corvette club of delaware valley) because they are RIGHT in my area and have a monthly get together right where I used to tend bar at a TGI Fridays. Mostly I'll probably be looking at 06's and I want a black one. I know black is a pain to clean but I've been doing it for years with the Audi and all my friends have black cars :P (BMW E60 M5 and 2 Volvo S60Rs) I'll be proud to bring some American muscle into the group!

Welcome to the gang. I was going to say that you were one lucky guy to afford the Z at such a point in your life but it appears that luck has nothing to do with it. I wanted a Corvette since the Route 66 days (don't worry, I know you are way too young to understand all that entails) but finally was able to afford one in 2007. You have made a good choice. The biggest thing you are going to notice about the car other than an 80 lbft torque improvement is the feeling of a car that is increadible light. That feels good whether you are racing or just driving around town. Choose wisely, grasshopper.
