LG "Street Series" vs "Pro Series"

So Ive been looking into getting some headers and everyone keeps talking about their LG Pro long tubes but Ive never seen anything about the "Street" series. Has anyone bought these? The only difference I can see is the Pros are 3 inch and the streets are 2.5. Is it really worth the extra 500 bucks for the pros? Any input would be great.

If was going to go with long tubes I'd opt for the Pros. Just me.

Any reason you think they're 500 dollars better than the street headers?

I am not going to speak in particulars to the Pro series verus Street series, thats suited for LG to discuss.

But I believe one of the biggest things is the primary runner size, then the collector design. You will see better gains out of the 1"7/8th primary long tubes, and honestly Im more particular to Kooks design, and the quality. A true American made product, that really has great value and will hold up till the end of time. Thats my .02

The collector is diferent on the street series. It's not as good as the one on the pros. The diference between them will widen more as the mods add up. I went with the pros. The diference in price for me was closer to $300.

It used to be ~$300 price difference, LG at some point in the recent past dropped the price on the Street series so it's now $500 price difference.

i have the street series on a cam only ls3 and im making just as much power as the guys w the pros... my car dynoed 490 rwhp at lg motorsports and is running a 10.7 @ 131mph so in my opinion they're doin good for me!!

I don't like to purchase things twice, so I would go with the Pros to support future options. I doubt there is a huge difference, but I do believe at some point the Street series would be more restrictive. I honestly don't know if I can personally justify long tubes at all over the Z06 manifolds, but I live in California. I'm sure LG will chime in here.

Look us up neighbor once you've made the choice...we've installed a set or two :D over the years. 4 hrs start to finish and you buy the refreshments.

Pros have a merger collector and the streets do not. I don't remember if the x-pipe on the streets is the same diameter as the pros; you can check on LG website. Overall the gains are small, but the pros give you the most you'll get.

I have LG Pro long tubes on mine. No regrets and as Motorhead-47 said, 4 hours start to finish with hand tools in the garage. PM either one of us if you need a hand. We live across the street from each other.

Finished a header install last week and installed a ported TB and intake manifold last night...tuning the car today....rear spoiler goes on next week....never ends! :flag:

I looked at the same headers.. and actually ended up going with the LGM 1 7/8" 3" all the way back Super Pro long tunes. I was fortunate enough to be AT LGM while they did the install and i can see that the quality of the headers and workmanship is incredible.

with CAI/Longtubes/Tune my 08 put down 436/425.

Amen to it never ending. Ended up getting a set of rims (ccw's) when I thought I was done for a bit lol. I really need to come down and meet you all.

As to the main question! I would go with the 1 7/8 since I did go with them, I have a 09 M6 that made 425rwhp&434rwt with the 3" x-pipe and stock mufflers. I got the Kooks but I am sure you cant go wrong with LG's stuff.

I have LG Pro LT's with hi-flow cats and Corsa Sport and I love it all.

Both pro's and street series have a slip
fit collector. That has been known to leak sometimes. Where ARH and Kooks have a compression type fitting which is much better!

You want the 3 inch x-pipe!
