Sorry NY we're taking the Series again this year:yesnod::lol::smash:

tomc8at 10-26-2009 12:19 AM

OURSHARK 10-26-2009 12:25 AM

The Yankees beating on the Phillies. :beatdeadhorse:

Ol'55 10-26-2009 12:30 AM

I'm thinking that we (our friends from the north, and us from the south) should pick one of the game days and pick a place (maybe a nice hotel with a lounge and big screens) between the two areas and make a party of it and enjoy some state to state rivalry together. Any ideas? :bigears:flag:

This looks to be somewhere in the New Brunswick/Sayreville area.

Mark2ooo 10-26-2009 12:44 AM

The Phils over the Yankees in 5.

Great idea! Would be a lot of fun!
New Brunswick/Sayreville? Hell we might as well go to NY:smash:
I'm thinking around the ECS area would be better:yesnod:
Maybe Chris could have us at his house:lol:
Maybe one of our retired members could work on that..........
Hey that would be YOU ED!:)

Wicked Weasel 10-26-2009 07:07 AM

Go Yankees.

Getting together is a great idea and I could use some time out. Unfortunately I will not have anything set up in the new house otherwise I would sponsor a gathering. Now though since I live close to the ECS I would come out to watch the game.

hcvone 10-26-2009 07:37 AM

I have homes in both states, looking for some good November baseball without snow. ;)

Phillies in 5, a week from today will be game 5

Humanoid 2.0 10-26-2009 09:32 AM

:boxing The North vs the South, we all know the North wins.
We should do some sort of wager. If the south wins the north goes down and buy the south cheese steaks, if the north wins the south comes up and buys the north Nathans hot dogs. Or something like that.

Chickie & Pete's in Bordentown, NJ. Okay maybe that's a Phillies bar, but it would be a central location. Maybe a nice sports bar in Hamilton area.

Philly in 5.....Philly in 5 !!! You have got to be kidding.

You are going up against a team that has the best record in baseball......that has hit more home runs than any team in baseball......that has the home field advantage and has won more home games than anyone in baseball........that has CC who could pitch 3 games if he has to with Pettite and Bernett in the rotation.....that has a-Rod, the best baseball player in the world........that has an excellent manager that has beat 2 excellent managers to get here and is going up against a flakey manager......that has Rivera, the best closer baseball has ever seen.......that has 7 players that have hit 20 or more homeruns......that has won despite not getting much from the bottom of the order........etc, etc, etc, etc.

You are a dreamer to say Philly in 5........

I have magical powers. I KNOW what is going to happen.

I'm glad to hear all that. I'd expect nothing less than to see the two very best teams in the world battle for the World Championship.

By the way, if CC did pitch 3 games, my guess would be the Phillies would be disspaointed in that, only becasue he didn't pitch 4. We sent him to the showers in the NLDS last year in the 3rd after giving up 5 runs. We like CC just as much as the Dodgers 300 lb, 100 mph Jonathan Broxton.

Oh yea, the Phillies love playing in other teams ballparks and with great success....

It will be a good series....

The Angels were 2nd best in all of bsaeball. Wow, I learn somehting new everyday..

The Angels were a disgrace. I can't believe they won any of those games.

Andy Pettit is a great pitcher and Rivera, WOW. When you combine those 2, it's scary....

THis will be fun..........

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

C&P in Bordentown sounds like a good idea. They have plenty of beers on tap for Yankees fans to drown their sorrows.

It will be great series regardless. I'm just glad we pissed off the national media by having a regional turnpike series and got rid of those fruity sports fans in So. Cal.;)

For the real diehards, mark your calendar for: Sunday, Nov 1st in South Philly. Why?

Eagles/Giants at 1 pm at the Linc.

Phillies/Yankees at TBD (8 pm?) across the street at CBP.

Between the die-hard NYC and Philly fans, this will be the tailgate to end tailgates. (Probably have to reinstate the stadium court room for this one.)

Rex Ruby 10-26-2009 12:09 PM

I knew this would get good :D
