Tire Pressure monitoring system for a trailer?

Has anyone put one in their trailer?
I really like the Hella system that I put in wife's Volvo.
It does pressure and temperature. Might be nice if I had a brake problem too.

I've seen some that have a repeater for trailer use. It mounts on the back of the truck or RV.
thanks in advance

That would be nice

I blew a tire on a trailer and didn't notice it till a helpful driver yelled over to me and saved my ride.

Drive with the windows down, you'll hear the "pop".

And smell the burning rubber, hearing a loud flap flap flap

Smoke in the side mirrors happens too.

And get TWO spares trailer tires.

and a little ramp to drive the good wheel up onto to change the blown out tire

Jason 10-30-2009 04:19 PM

Oh yeah, 2 spares. You'll get as good changing trailer tires as you will car tires.

I've also seen CC video configurations where he used 4 video cameras mounted on the back, the sides and even under the trailer so he could actually view the tires! Great stuff!

Yeah, pulling a wide enclosed trailer at night does make it difficult to see/feel a blow out if you are pulling with a diesel. Been there done that! Most monitors that I have seen are for very short range. I, too, would be interested in one.

I've been using a tire pressure monitoring system on my trailers for several years now, and once you have it you won't want to tow without it. It gives you a read-out as well as warnings if it goes below 10% of your starting air pressures. It makes towing more relaxed as you don't have the guessing game going on.
I found the Pressure Pro system to work really well and after probably 5 years of use it is still working like the first day.
They also have a repeater for long trailers so you can still get a strong signal.
I'm sure they have a website, but here is the phone number: 816 887-3505 they are out of Harrisonville, MO.

I lost a wheel off my trailer.... I wonder if that would have set off the low pressure alarm ??

I was at a camping world earlier this summer and saw they had a couple different systems for motorhomes and trailers.
