Good thing you didn't agree. He would have definately pulled on ya.

Grim Reaper 12-06-2009 11:33 AM

Should have told him you don't give driving lessons for less than 500.

PR1AWRet 12-06-2009 12:05 PM

Should have told him if he can get all that power to the rear wheels, it would have been a go. Honestly I don't think they would have hooked to well.

jrose7004 12-06-2009 12:08 PM

It takes all kinds.

olbear1962 12-06-2009 12:17 PM

fastvett 12-06-2009 12:28 PM

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

dlivewyer 12-06-2009 12:35 PM

 Good story. I would've taken his money and then let him win, and then just say 'aww man ya got me, I agreed to run you for $150, not beat you, if you want me to beat you, it'll cost you another $150'.

I was cruising the other day about 35 mph and a guy in a little yellow POS honda civic pulls up beside me and is just oogling my car up and down for a minute, then he downshifts and gooses it several times and then floors it and slowly pulls away. He would've chit if I would have unleashed (in my best Darth Vader voice) ' THE FULL POWER OF THE DARKSIDE'.

I get sick of the ricers around here. They always want to race.

Do they really? Or do they just want to see a REAL sports car run?

JW Motorsports 12-06-2009 12:44 PM

Well that could be it.

C5R USA 12-06-2009 12:46 PM

"I believe I can take you"... Oh,that's priceless.

What I believe is possible,is him taking that right over to Goodwill and
donating it. Anything short of that and he's reaching.

The funny thing is that now he is going to the acura forum and said that "the vette guy was scared to run him" lol

Ok, as a former Acura driver I have to chime here.

#1-A Legend IS an Acura. I drove a 1991 Acura Legend LS Coupe for 6 years.

#2-There was not a lot of aftermarket support. Over the years, Legend owners and forum members on multiple forums "got stuff made."

#3-I recently found out that a few of them have Twin Turbos making 650HP +/-. (I went on a new Legend forum they started to say hi, they asked if they could run me. LOL)

Be careful if a Legend asked you to run-tell him pop his hood first. LOL

And keep it on the track.

LoL. Had a guy wont to race me at Toy parade yesterday. I was there with a club to drive some dignitaries. The funny thing is his kids go to school with mine and I knew the guy from there. Anyway his vehicle of choice was a Yukon Denali! He was telling me how in the past he smoked a Z06 and they got up and over 75!!! All I could visualize was the guy in the Z laughing so hard he could not shift. Anyway I did not put him down because of our kids but felt kind of sad for the poor s*&k. I respect all cars and sometimes you get a big surprise from some of the ugliest ones but I can usually spot them, this was not the case.

Quickshift_C5 12-06-2009 01:02 PM

Funny as it sounds...if you agree to race someone like that for fun at a track you better know more about the car.

My buddy has a 530whp Jetta VR6. It's debatable about the noise it makes sounding like a fartcan, but it's just simply a byproduct of the amount of work that's been done. It looks factory stock, except for the giant front mount intercooler piping sticking out slightly under the bumper. Traction is a problem, but once he does get traction...you won't even know what passed you.

Have fun out there, don't let your head get too big.

What??? He had 415 rwhp in a front wheel drive car, yeah that sounds about right,,,,,

Vetteman Jack 12-06-2009 03:37 PM

Sometimes you just never know what might be under the hood of another car, but you did the wise thing by just turning him down regardless. Now if he wanted to take it to the track and still offer you the $150 ...
