Driver seat moves and seems loose

My drivers seat moves back and forth about a quarter inch and seems to be loose. Does anyone have this problem and what needs to be done to fix this?

Thanks in advance!!!

There are two potential problems with the seat. One is that the rubber pads in the for and aft screw drive have deteriorated. These can be replaced and there is probably information in the sticky at the top of this tech section. The second problem is looseness in the front tilt mechanism. This is harder to fix but possible with more effort.

Thanks to both of you for the help. I just bought the repair kit from Zip Corvette.

Its best to have someone sit in your seat while you inspect all the movable joints and brackets. Heres EVERYTNING that I have been able to gather on seat repairs:

that sucks:ack: I keep putting this off year after year. one question I have is, can't we just fill the rubber washer area with epoxy, let it cure out, instead of taking everything apart?:lurk:

I believe that would prevent adjusting the seat. I did the plastic washer repair that is on the forum. The instructions are great, complete with pictures. Ended up having to do both seats.

I did the nylon bushing repair six years ago and haven't had a problem since.
