The wife's DD

We lease her car and have done so for many years. She has a 07 Acura TL for her RD TL. We are considering a hybrid. Sense Acura does not make a TL hybrid we are looking at the Camry, Fusion, Civic and Lexus. She enjoys the drive and luxuries of the TL but may give those up to make less trips to the gas station. Any input?

I applaud your thinking. We bought an RX400h in 2005 and have saved thousands of dollars in fuel vs the RX330/RX350 version. Our vehicle, like the Toyota Camry Hybrid, runs just fine using regular gas, an additional savings.

The Camry Hybrid gets exceptional mileage and pays back the slight extra cost within 1.5 years at present fuel prices. The new Lexus 250H, which is available with more luxury ameneties than the Camry or Fusion, also averages more than 30 MPG.
The Fusion hybrid has been well-received by the press, but reliability is unkown.

The Prius, of course blows away every other vehicle in terms of economy and while it is available with lots of options, its power level is not near that of the Camry/Fusion.

For some strange reason, the Nissan Altima hybrid gets very little press, so I can't say anything - good or bad about it.

Sounds like a truely horrible bunch of cars.... but then again it's the wife's car and you can't expect most women to have good taste in cars. I thankfully talked mine out of her Camry and into a Grand Cherokee. Yes, that was a good as I could do.

usually leasing a hybrid doesn't make much sense in my opinion...

Most paybacks on hybrids on cost savings takes 50k miles.. (to save gas)

Make your wife happy and buy her what she wants.

Yeah......

Buy a good car and keep it, screw a lease........

I just sold my 98 TL that I've drove for 12 years and replaced it with a used Acura RL with no payments......

That's the key, good car-no payments.......

Flipping cars with a constant payment is just a rental....

Fusion Hybrid all the way! Screw Toyota!
