When I replaced my battery, a couple of months ago, all I had to do was re-index the windows:thumbs:

As noted, the only thing you will lose are the window index settings. All of the other items you mentioned will remain in tact.

The clock will also need reset.

Thanks for the reminder, it doesn't with the nav so I don't think of that.

You will not pass state inspection for some time after battery is reconnected, about 50 miles or so. Tests will show a "not ready" condition.

When I disconnected my battery I lost my NAV system stored destinations. But it did remember my radio station presets.

I used a memory saver and did not lose any settings. Purchased for $7; it operates on a 9 volt battery and plugs into the cigarette lighter

Congratulations. If it's a C6 you're talking about, for a mere $7, you saved everything twice.

Didn't even lose that when I disconnected my battery to remove my seats.

I lost the NAV settings on my '08 when I disconnected the car battery. Do C6's have a 'backup memory battery'? If so, where is it because I might need to replace mine?

Only indexed!

I have an 06 C6 A6 F55 NAV and I lost nothing, just reindexed the windows. I have disconnected the battery several times and the dealer has also replaced the battery, same story.

I was surprised last yr. when I reconnected the battery.

All I had to do was re-index windows. Radio presets, oil life monitor, personal greeting were all there.........

Average mph, mpg, elapsed time, and trip mileage all reset to zero. If any of that is important to you, then write it down before the disconnect. You can't put that info back in the system.

Interesting. I have had my battery disconnected several times and I've never lost anything in my navigation radio. There is no "backup battery" so no you don't need to replace it.
