18x10s all around with 285/35R18 tires. Torq Thrust II in gray. 5.6" back spacing if I remember right. I have small spacers (10mm I think?) because the rears were very close to the frame and would occasionally rub. Offset trailing arms as well.

Those look familiar! These are my track wheels, 18x10, 5.74" backspace with a 0.1" spacer for an effective 5.64" backspace, 295/30R18 tyres.

Looks great! Which 295/30R18s do you run at the track and how do you like them?

At the moment I'm using cheapo Nankang AR-1s - I think they're quite good for the money (much better than I'd have expected from the brand), but I haven't done a direct compare with another set of semis yet. Well, apart from the set of Continental ContiforceContact semis that I originally fitted to the wheels that were total garbage - they were over 5 years old, and had way less grip than my 185/40R17 Continental ExtremeContactSport street tyres! Pretty sure I could pick up a second or two on most tracks by going to the Yokohama AO50s - which I think are near impossible to buy outside of Australia and Japan, but are widely regarded as the competition tyre to have almost regardless of car over here. But the Yokies are about 2.5 times the cost (they're ~$450US a corner in a 295/30R18 or 295/35R18!) of the Nankangs, and I'm having trouble justifying that! I'm still able to compete with and beat a lot of cars on the Yokies, so the Nankangs aren't bad.

Hello all, I read and read and just want to confirm before I pull the trigger. Will torq thrust ll rims fit my 1969 Corvette with no modifications? Here are the measurements they are giving me.

18x8. Offset 0 mm. 4.5" backspacing. (Front)

18x9. Offset 0 mm. 5" backspacing. (Rear)

Quoted price $1126 shipped to my door

Any help would be greatly appreciated

That is beautiful!!!! Can you share tire sizes and rim sizes. I know you mentioned 17's but width and offset if possible?

Lyndwood 06-11-2022 12:30 PM

17's on the litter box. 17 x 8 (o off set 4.5" bs) and 17 x 9 (o offset 5"bs)

On a 69 vette would you know if a 4.5" backspace will work or is it best to stay 4" on a 17x8 rim?

Mooser 06-14-2022 09:24 PM

I'm sure someone will check in who's done it and I believe it's been done, I think you'd still have to be careful of the parking brake bracket on the arm / cable with the extra 1/2" of BS.
My wheels are currently off again so when I put the rear back on I'll check clearance on the arm though and report back

Not on 17 inch or bigger wheels due to the wheel, but now you would have to look at the tire getting close to the cable. The hanger will be into the dish of the wheel. The tire clearance on the spring and spring bolt needs to be addressed as well

So I bolted one of my wheels on and did a couple of checks
My tires are 235/55 almost exactly 10" wide at the bulge and measure in from the bulge to the mounting surface of the rim 4-5/8 ~ 4-3/4" depending on my paralax
My parking brake is relocated to the top but it looks like the bracket would be inside the rim lip be a little so it would clear
Between the tire and the trailing arm I can just put a 1-5/16" wood block and it sticks so probably about 1-1/4"
Keep in mind my parking brake cable isn't there so it's probably about 1/2 ~ 5/8" out from the arm so that would take the clearance down to 5/8" ~ 3/4" which doesn't seem too bad with the 4" BS
Looking at mine, going to a 4.5" BS would seem pretty tight to the parking brake cable if it was in the original spot and if you went to a wider tire (like a 255, assuming using the same 8" rim) it would get even tighter
I was thinking someone who's tried it would chime in

Anyway, that's what I see on mine, YMMV
(the rear sway-bar is actually slightly closer but the wheel is hanging down and I think it will more away some as it comes up so I don't think that's an issue)
