New Wheels for my ZR-1

Okay, the car is filthy, I know! But, I just got back from having the wheels put on and thought I would share some photos. The fronts are the wrong size; Apparently AR QC Dept. is not for squat! Another set (correct set) are being built as I type. It’s getting ready to pour rain here and I thought I would just snap a few pics’s to give you a look see / idea, before putting her up for the night. When I get the correct wheels on her and all cleaned up I will re-post. If anyone wants to know the tire and wheel sizes, PM me and I will reply.

I will now forewarn all members here that Wheel Pro’s Inc. is a good and reliable company, but they do have a few opportunists within their organization. With that said, I was disappointed with them for shipping the wrong wheels, but they are making good on my purchase. So, hopefully in another two weeks, all will be forgiven.

On a side note, when I pulled into the driveway the car turned over exactly 35K miles…..what are the chances of that happening??????????

Looks good, but I have to wonder why only disclose the tire & wheel size in a PM. Just state what you got and what they are replacing.

I'm digging all of it: car color and wheel choice. I used 17" front and 18" rear - were the wheel hub pilot holes the right size, or did you need hubcentric rings?

:smiliedrool: I love torque thrust wheels

What size/off set are they? And what's wrong with the front's? They look good.

pologreen1 05-14-2010 11:18 PM

First time I have seen those on a Z.

What size/off set are they? And what's wrong with the front's? They look good.

Front's are 17" X 9.5" with an offset 56mm/2.18" and a backspace of 188.7mm/7.44"

Rear's are 17" X 11" with an offset 36mm/1.42" and a backspace of 188.7mm/7.44"

They sent a 6.75" back space for the fronts, so the tires break the wheel well lip about .5" to .75". The correct set will bring them in flush.

I was very specific with AR about the size's, but nobody checked them prior to shipping, and then the distributor I used did not check them either when he received them. Since they were custom made with a "No Return" policy, he (the distributor) tried to tell me they were what I ordered and that I was stuck with them. Well, I took my receipt out took him over to the box and pointed out that this was the wrong size, the wrong order number and the wrong wheel number. Lets just say he said OOOOP'S! in so many words.

Fantastic. Need some close-ups of the rears and when you get a sec of the wheel up against the side of the body. Looks fantastic!

Whew, I was sure it was Polo Green but I almost thought my eyes were deceiving me. Polo Green can look black in pictures, its not the easiest color to photograph.

As I recall from when I got my Torque Thrusts from AR's custom department ~ 7 years ago the 17" comes with the right pilot hole size - but the 18" I used on the rear needed hubcentric rings.

Will do....when I get the right front wheels on her and cleaned up I will take some nicer photos...these were just taken in a hurry. I am guessing here, but you want to see a straight down shot of the wheel to body photo?

Yeah, on a sunny day the green just jumps off the car...but on a very dark day or at night, people often make the mistake that its black. Best of both worlds I guess.:D

Here is a before photo on a brighter day....

I had thought about your set up, but was cautioned by AR I would have to go that route as well....plus...these are New F1's all the way around...and going to 18" rears would mean new tires. Hey, they ain't cheap...so I just stayed with the stock size wheels. I think I may lower the car now an 1" as well.
