Paint colors - Orange
Hi, i'm interested in picking up an Orange C6. Can someone tell me the diff bet
'05 71 Sunset Org Pearl, '06 71 Daytona Sunset Orange '07 83 Atomic Orange there aren't many around to look at, and I can see the diff in photos, it appears there weren't many ordered in Orange and thus it was discontinued after many years any opinions on which Orange looks the best thanks for your help, :flag: |
DSOM is a darker shade than AO

In 2008 they stopped using the tinted clear coat with Atomic orange due to limitations at the factory on how many tinted clear coats they could handle at a time. You can see the difference if they are next to each other, but otherwise it is difficult to tell.

There was no orange color on the 2010 and for 2011 Inferno Orange will be the new color. This is the same orange that is currently available on the new Camaro. As far as a comparison between the Daytona Sunset and Atomic here are a few comparison photos taken by forum members Leo the Lion and AnotherYellow. Daytona was a dark metallic sort of a copper, almost a burnt orange. Atomic is a brigher shade of a metallic orange. Seems like both owners of the DSOM and AO both love their car colors. If you like them both, the DSOM will end up being cheaper because the 05-06 cars are cheaper than 07-09. I thought the DSOM had too much red in it so I got the AO and I love it and imglad I got this one. If you can go to a car show with corvettes you should, because both these paints look so much better in person.
Gary....love your cars! |
Sitting side by side, it is clear that the ATOMIC ORANGE is much more noticeable. Go AO

You cant go wrong with either color. My screen name will tell you which one I chose.

I like DSOM just fine but I LOVE Atomic Orange.

This is another pic of Atomic Orange, and as you can see it shades from light to darker depending upon how much light is hitting it.
Either color of orange makes for a good looking and fairly uncommon car. http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/7859/imgp9009.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us |
