Auto Show Placard Suggestions

Anyone out there have details on how to design a placard showing the details of our Corvettes to be displayed at car shows. What info should it contain? Do it yourself or professionally designed? Appreciate any and all inputs.

If you have the capabilities of doing it on your own computer, have at it...lots cheaper, that way. If you need it blown up in size, take your finished copy to Kinko's.

Put general data on the car: year, model, ext/int color(s), engine, transmission and options are usually included. Also include any info that you tend to share with those who stop to talk about your car. For instance, almost all of the interior components on my car are original; I've cleaned and re-dyed some of them, but they are the 'real deal'. Also, my car has 200K+ miles on it and still has the original engine and tranny. That seems to be of interest to placard readers.

Here is a link to a popular vendor you see at car shows, etc.

Ofcourse the professional ones look the best:cool: ...but ...if you take the time to input some info and photos of your car into a simple publisher program,( usually come with the computer ), you can make a doable board like I did ...total cost... about 40 bucks....
I loaded completed project info from puter to a thumb drive and office depot did the rest including lamination ...
good luck.

Here is one I made from a BB valve cover, 1/2" pc. of acrylic & come C3 emblems, then had it silk screened at my local "minute man press" printer. I didnt need pics on it as it usually sits next to the car & they can see what it looks like.

Heres a few I did on my computer, I then take the files to staples and they print and laminate 18 x 24 or 30 x 36 for under 30 bucks.

I would love to start doing these for members. I am an established graphic designer, having designed graphics for the Rolex museum at the Monterey Historic races in CA. I did two murals for Andretti's Grand Prix winning Lotus, he liked them so much he autographed mini versions for me.

I would provide designs for help with my "new" 1980 Vette. I'm a designer, not a mechanic-

Mine......a friend made it for me.

We took the photos with a high resolution camera, 20 mb.
Upload to Shutterfly.com and ordered a 20"x30" poster print. $22
Got it mounted at Michael's on foam board with a protective anti-glare coating. $60
