Relay Mounting

Everybody talks about their switch panels, but where is the best place to put all the relays. I had some under the dash and some under the hood. I now have even more relays to install. So has anybody got a nice set up were you have everything together?

Re: Relay Mounting (Tom Hall)

Tom,

My bottle heater relays and inline fuses are located in the back compartment next to each bottle. The heater pads do not show, as does any of the wiring.

My solenoid relays (necessary for the progressive controller) are on the right fender panel next to the battery for easy connection and maintenance. Everything looks stock, unless you know what you're looking for.

My switch panel (arm, purge, left/right DPDT bottle heaters) is in the removed ash tray hole and fits perfect like it was made for it. Used parts directly from Radio Shack for the switch panel. The ashtray cover closes completely and hides the switch panel. I put the progressive controller in the center console so it's readily available for track adjustments right up to launch time.

It would be tough to put them all together if you're running bottle heaters so I think one set in the rear compartment and one set mounted in the engine compartment is a good compromise.
