FS: Used LT1 hood-original GM w/chrome
Hey Guys,
I have a white LT1 hood that I have removed from a 1970 restoration project I have underway. The car was not an original LT1 car so we are installing the original hood back on the car. This hood is in very good condition with the edges in excellent condition. The center of the hood has a spider web crack that appears to be from the center air cleaner bolt catching the hood. This car had a carb spacer that raised the carb and air cleaner which caused this. It appears to be cosmetic and should be an easy fix when you paint the hood to match your car. I can deliver to Carlisle next week but need to know by Monday night as I am leaving early Tuesday morning. I can also meet you pretty much anywhere on I95 between Florida and PA to deliver. It can also be shipped however shipping will be spendy due to the size of the hood. Asking $500 for the hood which includes chrome in excellent condition. Please feel free pm or call me with any questions. Thanks, 772-485-4060 |

Not sure where to get the chrome pieces. They were already on the hood. |

Ha ha! It is space utilization. If you could see everything else it would make sense why it is upside down. Kind of like pieces of a puzzle.
Not sure where to get the chrome pieces. They were already on the hood. Most, if not all the vendors have them in their catalogs. Here's one: http://www.zip-corvette.com/ProductDetails/ProductDetails.aspx?pid={e9ba89c8-0ecf-47fa-a257-49f187702f94}&gid={504f3c34-015f-4685-8b2e-763bbe505477}&GroupName=Hood+Inserts&pna me=68-72+427%2f454%2fLT1+Hood+Insert+Moldings& Referer=&Alias=&ptct=SGR-SR&CTitle=& Jim |
Looks good to me, thanks Jim.
I also had another guy offer me his (looked new) for $150...why is that? Are some chrome and others stainless? Are those reproduction ones from zip good? I don't care about originality.. |
Sale pending:cheers: I will post a final once payment received.
Tanks CF! |

There is no insulation under my LT-1 hood or the clips for them. I don't believe any LT-1s had hood insulation installed originally.

Hi j,
Welcome!!! I can understand your interest ....but besides it being a 7 year old thread, post #17, right before yours, indicates it was sold. Perhaps you might post an ad of your own in the Parts For Sale/Wanted Forum. Regards, Alan |
