Directional Cooling Vanes
Each base C5 C6 rotor is side and wheel specific which means the cooling vanes are venting the correct direction for maximum rotor cooling. Unlike other rotors these rotors are side specific with directional cooling vanes! Rotors with directional cooling vanes maximize the heat extraction from the rotors. Directional cooling vanes help reduce brake fading and extend rotor life.

TPS Motorsports from day one has always been about bringing the best value and service to our customers as possible. We are now proud to roll out our line of slotted/ cross drilled, slotted and slotted/dimpled rotors. These rotors are made by Centric, which is the parent company of Stoptech and are a very high quality rotor. Our rotors are FAR superior than lower priced “eBay” rotors. We have tested our rotors on customers street and open track vehicles.

Which Rotor is right for me?
One question which is always asked of me is which type of brake rotor is better.. slotted or cross drilled? Before answering this question we need to ask.. what type of driving do you do? If it is mostly a street car, then cross drilled rotors will be fine. Cross Drilled rotors main benefit is they look great and do offer some heat dissipation and a wiping effect of the pads when wet. The main disadvantages for cross-drilled rotors is they have a history of playing connect the dots.. cracking. If you are very hard on your brakes or take your car to the track I would suggest slotted rotors. Slotted Rotors on the other hand offer great heat dissipation. Better braking than cross-drilled because of increase braking surface over a cross drilled unit. Generally a solid rotor is 100% material touching the pad, slotted is about 92% and drilled is 85%. More braking surface means better braking power. SLOTTED ROTORS IS WHAT WE RECOMMEND FOR MOST CARS ESPECIALLY FOR OPEN TRACKING AND AUTO-X

Why don’t you recommend Cross Drilled Rotors?
Because they tend to crack over time when subject to heavy use. Most companies including Baer, Stoptech, AP Racing DO NOT recommend CROSS DRILLED ROTORS for track use. We offer it as an option BUT ONLY recommend it to customers who’s cars do not see much track duty. They also offer less braking surface than slotted rotors which means less braking power.

Why do you have Slotted/ Dimpled Rotors?
The main reason we offer Slotted/dimpled rotors is because they offer the desired look of cross drilled rotors for many customers without having the issues of cracking. This is a “compromise” option to have for those who like the cross drilled look without having to go with cross drilled rotors.

**************************************** ****************
Do the rotors stay black or gold?
The black and gold coating is a special zinc coating to prevent the rotors from rusting. The colored zinc where the brake pad meets the rotor will be gone after driving about 50 miles while the rest of the rotor remains protected with zinc.

Here is the picture of the rotor AFTER about 50 miles of braking. The Black zinc coating will wear out on the surface where the pads meet.

I'd like to hear reviews or comments on these rotors? Anyone? I'd like to buy a cross-drilled/slotted set ffor my street drive 2001 vert. But....

Sounds like a good deal.

PostShawn 10-01-2010 07:35 PM

Looks like a great deal. If I didn't order my Powerslots at an amazing deal a few weeks ago I would order yours. I got the same thing you have though, slotted/dimpled rotors. From all the research seems like the way to go.

Got mine yesterday, put them on today. Seem like some pretty nice rotors, I got the slotted/dimpled ones. :flag:

Does Centric make the blanks and some other co drill & slot?

Who makes the SS Lines?

I'm very interested for my 02Z.

I'm taking a shot and ordered your cross drilled/slotted rotors. I'll look forward to seeing the end result. Oh and I ordered a set of jacking pucks while I was at it.

Thanks for offering the deal!

Centric makes the blanks and they are drilled and slotted for us.

The company that makes our lines is a OEM manufacturer and makes hose for the automotive and industrial markets.

Thanks for the orders! Who else would like a set?

Rob 99 10-04-2010 01:45 AM

By any chance are 'dimpled' only available, i currently have a set of those now that im looking to replace.
I don't want to sacrifice to much braking surface.:willy:

AntonioZ06 10-04-2010 04:35 PM

can the zinc coating come in anything other than black? If not, can the hat portion be painted over top the zinc coating, or not recommended?

Yes we can do that. BUT I cannot guarantee the pattern will be the same as yours.

Yes it can come in Silver... I like black better. You can paint over the zinc coated hat without any issues.
