What's the different between this and the stuff that other forum members have bought from Home Depot?

Typically, the material bought at Home Depot or Lowes, while it may be effective, it is not as effective as our material is, and it costs more for the 85 sq. ft. of material that is used in a C5. Our pieces are pre-cut as well, clearly labeled, and we provide detailed instructions at www.madvettemotorsports.com/pdf that allow each Corvette owner to do an install job that is both effective and rewarding.

There are several differences in the material itself, most inside, and mostly technical specs, that result in better effective results from our material. While I don't have those specs in front of me from the material at Home Depot or Lowes, their material was one of the different materials we tested before deciding on our choice of material. We believe, and many members have confirmed this, that our material is better in many ways to any other material on the market, and does a great job in knocking down both noise, and heat in the Corvette, and with the instructions, and clearly labeled and pre-cut pieces, it makes our kit the "most valuable" kit on the market to date.

We are available to walk you through the install as well, should you need our assistance, and we don't just want to sell you a insulation kit, but instead be satisfied with our product and the results, and help you make a better, more informed decision.

 Looks like a nice product ... wish GM offered this (standard feature, or an option). Would love to get this done to my car! :yesnod:

As far as the product itself, it looks like a honeycomb (or variant) ... which is NOT entry level stuff. Home Depot & Lowe's predominantly sells low cost product(s), which serve a basic purpose ... not necessarily a specific purpose. HD & Lowe's will most often select a product with the most profit margin ... versus the best product for the job. As an example ... Moen faucets are known to be WASHERLESS ... however ... in order to sell at a *low price* ... Home Depot mandated Moen make their product CHEAPER. The only way to do this was to remove the washerless technology, and install washers in its place. So while you can buy a Moen faucet for less money at HD ... it is not necessarily the same faucet as you can get elsewhere.

Disclosure: I am not affiliation with this posted product or seller.

Thanks Guys.

I put this kit in my vert earlier this summer. Easy install since its pre-cut. While the carpet & passenger seat was still out I went for a drive. With a thermal IR gun, the exposed surface temp of the torque tunnel was 160 degrees idling in the garage, and 92 degrees where there was insulation.

Regarding the sound level redunction, I now hear my Borla Stingers out "behind" the car rather than "underneath" if that makes sense. It knocks down the road noise as well. Well worth it!

Todd,

You really had a nice reduction in temps around your torque tunnel.

Thanks for the comments.....

I'd like to hear an audio file of a car with this kit installed and before the kit installed for road noise.

Sorry, we don't have an actual audio comparison file. Maybe a forum member does?

I have this on my car as well. It's amazing. I put it on when I put on my long tubes, off road X pipe, and did the bypass mod to my factory TI system. Its actually quieter now then before I did all the exhaust mods. Great product!!

Thanks, you are correct!

Since GM doesn't offer something like this as an option gives us the opportunity to provide a great after market product.

The pre cut material sure sounds nice. Some years ago I used the Lowes stuff and it can be interesting job to say the least.

Can't get much easier than using our pre-cut pieces. Well, maybe if you have a couple of friends do the install for you.

The insulation rolls from the Lowes, Home Depot, etc., don't compare with the material we use for our kits.

Tim
