I waxed my car today... Couple pics...
This is the first time I get to detail it this year. I think I did a quick wax it 3 times total, I try to wash it at least every week or two, but this has been SUCH a busy year I really didn't get to do a proper detail untill now; the end of the driving season (it was 37F here last night!).
The process was as follows: Wash with Down dish soap to remove all traces of old wax Wash with car soap to make sure it is extra clean. Usually I'd claybar in between both waxes, but I was too busy. I used a Porter Cable random orbit buffer and a medium foam pad. Step one was Zaino Fusion; a mildy abrasive compound to remove some of the scratches. Step two was Zaino All-in-one; a cleaner wax that's supposed to remove swirl marks. Step 3 was Zaino 5 Pro, the wax itself, which is supposed to fill in some lighter scratches. This product I do not like: it is greasy and doesn't dry. It actually detracted from the appearence of the vehicle leaving some streaks that 3 separate buffings wouldn't remove. BUT, since it is so greasy, it stays on, so that's why I used it for the end of the season. The car turns 78,000 miles this week and is a daily driver; the paint is obviously quite worn... Still, it sure cleans up nice when I put the time into it  Enjoy! http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/d...reflection.jpg http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/d...o/lakeview.jpg http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/d...ino/sunset.jpg http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/d...no/skyview.jpg http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/d.../frontshot.jpg http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/d...o/sideshot.jpg http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/d...rearcorner.jpg http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/d...aino/dark1.jpg http://i529.photobucket.com/albums/d...Zaino/dark.jpg |

Nice job, what do you use on your car? I'm a big fan of liquid glass, usually do 3 coats and finish with a high speed buffer..........shines like mirror afterwards. I have tried Turtle way, Ice wax and love that stuff because it leaves no white residue......you even wax the black trim and rubber, no discoloration.

Lookin' good

Fantastic job if your car is black.
If it's any other color, you missed a few spots! |
