I already put 13,500 miles on 0w20 Amsoil and have those results (outstanding, btw). We'll see what this M1 looks like later. |

but, as a follow up, I did receive a comment back from GM (on my question to them) that "Extended Performance" M1, full syn., GM4718M, correct weight, oil is permissible. that's the one that was shown in the video (sitting on the frc with open hood) that came with my '08. |
Best stick to 30 weight in a Corvette.:flag:

It's good to know you could technically use this in a Vette. It's also odd that a 20 grade is approved for this spec. If you are racing or trying to get a bit more Hp, I'd use it. Another good choice is their 0w-30. All three are very good oils, it would be interesting to see how they all perform in the C6.

I don't know if this is off the point... but "Top Fuel" dragsters use 0 50... & they seem to accelerate just fine ... :rofl:

As others have pointed out, meeting GM4718M alone doesn't mean that it is acceptable for use in corvette. Viscosity grade also has to be correct or within owner manual acceptable limits.
