***RSD Has a Bolt in, NHRA Legal Roll Bar for C5 Coupe, FRC, and C5Z06***

RSD has developed a bolt in NHRA Approved Roll bar legal for C5 Coupes and C5Z06. These are all Chrome Moly with swingout / Removable door bars. We even have a 6 Point option!

So many guys have been breaking the 11.49 barrier and a lot of them are C6 Z06's. Because of the Aluminum Frame of the C6 Z06 a weld in bar was not an option. We worked with a Local Chassis builder and he worked closely with several NHRA Tech inspectors, even sending desings to NHRA to get their approval!

NHRA's response was; "We think you are overbuilding it!" but OK approved!

Completely bolt in and you don't even need to remove the seats. This bar can be installed in your driveway, no lift required. Because it is bolt in with no welding required, It comes powder coated Black Satin.

The Top still stores in the original locations on the C5 and C6 coupes perfectly.

Anything bolt in for a C5 vert?

I am quite confident this will fit the Convertible just fine. The question lies with how well the flip up panel will hinge up or down with the roll bar in there.
We have not had a Convertible to research or anyone wanting to modify that painted panel for the sake of safety or legality.
I would think If a convertible guy was really wanting to have a roll bar, they would buy this one and make it work!

Aside from having to cut up the cover to clrear the down bars, I believe the main hoop would sit too far back and the way the top operates, you wouldnt be able to flip it up properly.

Maybe someone local to RSD will play guinia pig.

Looks like a nice bar, Steve. Best of success with it.

Thanks Peter,
Maybe you should take a driving Vacation to Cali and we can try it in your vert, I know it needs a roll bar!

Actually Pete already has a bar in his car but hopefully someone will step and see if this one fits without too much modification.

The nerve of these tracks to give you a hard time for some mid-low 10s LOL. :D

Probably low with the weather. Not like they are going to let me know if the car can do it. Track condition is lacking because of the cooler weather and the crew is probably starting to fight the elements and getting tired.

It's a shame that your car came together right at a time when ALL of the tracks are really tightening up on the safety equipment thing :( (it's a good thing actually as safer is better of course :)).
You can't even do 1/8th miles only in your car now as they'll know exactly what you're doing and likely warn you before you even get a chance to run it out the back on your last pass.
Even I have a problem now, I got 'the talk' at Atco just last week. :nonod:

Give it a shot. The key there will be to watch the sixty foots (they should come up on the board) and ONLY stay in it if it's your best ever short time. Run some 1/8ths but be sure to really lift (brakes too if need be) and run over 11.50 and under 110 just to keep completely under the radar. :)

Any pics of the actual way these bolt it? What type of bolts? etc.

I can't picture how a bolt(s) would be as good as welded.

Bolts would probably not be worth a darn for a guy in the 8's!

I am sure a full weld in cage would be the ticket for you!

Hey, I'm just asking (I already have a full cage)

You say "No Need for a lift", etc. etc.

Which makes me wonder how the base plates are bolted in. I would have thought thru bolting or U bolts would be used.

Are you using a jack nut/hollow fastener?

We through bolt the Crossmember, through bolt the Frame in the rear for the down tube, Backing plate that catches some frame for the door bar swivel base.
It does not go to the floor by the seats.
