Anybody looking for a Tall 4" version of the C4 Cowl hood?

Just found out this one is NOT a Toledo Hood, it has been modified with the 4" cowl added to a stock Corvette hood, it has some weight to it and not superlight.

It needs to be stripped of multiple layers of paint but in surprisingly good shape. The yellow-ish spot is where I laid down some stripper and pulled about 2-3 layers of paint off, more left. The red showing appears to be the first layer of paint where adhesion was poor.

$150.00and its yours, won't ship, you gotta pick it up from Maryland or make arrangements to have it picked up.

Was on a 10 second C4 which got retired.

I figured someone here could put it to good use....

:eek:That is a great price, But man is that tall. I was not expecting that, 4" is more than i want.

The one that most have is the 2 3/4" rise, plenty high enough to give the hood definition over the stock hood, the 4" is kinda "in your face" tall and will impede what you see in the RH corner of the car.

Thats why Toledo stopped selling them for a while, 4" rise doesn't sound like much but on a C4 it is humongous.....

If I was close I would snag it.. but then would trim to be about a 2" rise like the older TP hoods.. I think the newer TP hoods at 2.75" is still a bit much to me

The 2 3/4" rise hood is just about right, not too low and not so high you can't see chit on the right side of the car, been there, done that.

Any lower then the 2 3/4" and you'd have a hard time telling it from a stock hood, at least a laymen would. Plenty of room under the hood with the 2 3/4" rise if you wanted to machine a set of IH extension plates to raise the plenum, kinda like a mini-tunnel ram that the upper RPMs would enjoy especially in a LT-5.

The one I'm selling is in my way and I want it gone, getting a pretty good collection of hoods hanging around my house and its getting out of hand, house is getting smaller by the day!
