Anyone us plasti dip to blackout lower rear bumper?
it's like a spray on rubber coating, and it peels off if you dont like it or get tired of it after a while...Visit the link to basically see how it's done and looks...I think it beats the 400 dollar overlay

I used a semi-flat and just rattle canned it - turned out perfect.

Not a bad option......

Interesting. I wonder if it comes with a textured finish?

I checked out the link and it looks like it may be easy to do, however that was on an Evo front end. According to the instruction it must be applied over the area in a complete coverage from one end to the other. Not like you would normally do with rattle can paint where you apply a light coat than apply more paint as you go. I wonder what happens if you overlay an area that you did on the first pass, such as starting at the top and going from left to right, then dropping down to cover the next section and the spray is overlaid. Also the applying a wet coat to remove the tape so you don't peel the dry coat. That may be a little tricky also on our gig butt cars.
I will be interested to see how it comes out on the rear of a Vette. |

Have y'all heard about Dupli-Color "car art" paint in a rattle can. You can spray it on just like paint and then rub it off. I have not tried it yet. So I can't give any feedback. Just thought I would mention it.
linky.... http://www.duplicolor.com/products/carArt/ and their video......http://www.youtube.com/duplicolortv?.../0/OMrb0akTsEQ |
just did the plasti-dip paint...i had to rip it off though...they were right about ripping off the pinstripe right away...i did 3 coats and went to rip off the tape and the paint came along with it a little bit..underneath the car was a pain to get off (had to rub it off with finger) because it is a lighter coat because its harder to get to..im gonna try it again and be a little quicker this time
you can see on the right side where its rough from when i was peeling off the pinstripe n the paint came with a tad http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y32...1025102227.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y32...1025102230.jpg |

Has anyone considered just having black vinyl applied to the lower rear? Similar to the full car wraps?

I've thinking about doing this but,I"m going with the ABS overlay.
I want the ZR1 look to compliment the ZR1 splash guards I just put on. |
Wonder how carbon fiber would do or look??????
