I remember many of them. Al Bowes always ran strong, Lovallo was on top of game. I co-held a couple of records with Dick Moroso. Covettes were in abundance back in the 60s at Dover. NHRA finals in Las Vegas yesterday almost had the son of one of Dover's legends winning top fuel. Bobby Lagana's son Dom made it to the finals against Schuamcer. In nearly 50 years Bobby has never given up and always runs on a shoestring. At Dover he was always popular and always hard to beat. His first wife's sister married one of my best friend . We often got together after the races for a "few rounds". Lots of fun and good memories.

Ahh the good old days at Dover! In the background you can see Bob Olivers' lone TR3 an excercise in futility against the Vette onslaught.

The '54 at the bottom of OP looks like Tommy Accuri (spelling). Never ran very well and was all over the place going down the track

Most in the range of low 14's high 13's. Good ones would run in low 13s. Back then 7" slick was the max for stock classes and some modified classes

Maybe that homemade straight axle was welded in and aligned "by eyeball".

Probably as good as the roll-bar ! Every time down the track it would jump nearly sideways back and forth going down the track. It covered about 1/3 mile instead of 1/4. It not only was wicked handling, but pretty slow too.

Old Corvettes never die, they just go squirrelier!

Old Vette Gasser

Here's a link to a 66 Vette Gasser we are restoring. I was told it ran out of Columbus OH and National Trail Drag Strip. It was Green at the time. If anyone remembers it I would love to hear from you.

@ Fred, we've talked about your past exploits but I never fully understood how much you were involved in drag racing back in the day.
