Bolton LS2 A6 - 11.7 & 119.8 mph

Took the vette out to Houston Raceway Park after getting my 3200 stall installed.

Traction....was nowhere to be found. This Yank obliterates the tires on the launch.

I only didn't spin on ONE run and it was because I left from idle, lol.

60 - 1.73 (I know it'll run low 1.6s when I get the mojo working with this setup)
330 - 4.92
1/8 - 7.558 @ 93.99 (best mph was 94.29)
1/4 - 11.723 @ 118.85 (best mph was 119.81..ran over 119 on 3 passes)

My mods are:

Ebay Longtubes and Offroad X (lol)
K&N intake with Vette-Air scoop
Borla Stingers
Dynotune
3200 Yank

I was running on 275 Nitto 555R DRs mounted on 17" C5 Z06 wheels.

I'm going back Sunday and will absolutely annihilate these tires during the burnout and try them at 15psi-18psi and see what it can do.

I know the car has EASY 11.5s in it how it sits and could probably eek out an 11.4 if everything went perfect in the run. I mean...it's almost trapping 120mph, it'll damn well run low 11s with a proper launch

All in all it was an enjoyable evening out with my pops though and it was good practice with the new Converter....times are only coming down from this point.

(Yes, I know the wheel wells were dirty...I didn't have time to clean the car up before the track as it was a last minute decision to go :P )

Good stuff!

Neumonic2002 11-06-2010 11:20 AM

Congrats!

dicky 11-06-2010 11:31 AM

nice times, my last time at the track my car went 11.40 & 41 with a 1.64 60' at 119.8, so if you get your 60' in the 1.6s you should have a nice 11.4

did you try to just stall up to about 1000-1200 RPM and stompin it, thats where i seem to get my best 60' but ever car is different

good luck

FloydSummerOf68 11-06-2010 11:41 AM

Thanks :)

If I left at anything over an idle it blew the tires away. It's DEFINITELY making more power on the line stalling it up, so I know that's where the money is. Low 1.6s are imminent.

I just need to heat the tires up more and I think I'll be good. Nitto 555Rs are notorious for needing a very long burnout to get nice and sticky. It'll just take some practice to see what the car likes, that's all :)

I'm going to be adding a shot of gas to the car and then will be switching to a 305 MT ET Street Radial....won't have any traction problems after that

yea those M/Ts will really help, when do you plan on adding the nitrous and what kinda setup? im wondering because i plan on doing a nitrous setup on my bolt-on car one day

I'm going to piece together a dual nozzle dry kit mostly from Cold Fusion Nitrous.

They are a Houston based company that makes a SOLID product and I've used a lot of their stuff in the past. I'll probably also pick up a few pieces from Harris Speed Works and Dynotune Nitrous.

I plan on running a 125 Dry shot to start with.

dicky 11-06-2010 11:58 AM

cool yea i know of them i was looking at there 2 stage wet plate kit, i plan on having 50 1st stage out of the hole and 125 2nd stage when i hit 2nd gear.

whenever you get your kit and test it let me know what kinda gains you get, im shooting for 9.9999 and 135+, it my be a long shot but we'll see.

I think you'll have a hard time hitting 9s with only a 50 shot in first gear. It's all about the 60' and building the momentum early on.

It'll be a couple months at least before I get my kit together and on the car, but I'll certainly post up results.

My goals for the car are 10.999 with boltons only and sub 10.5 on nitrous. I have a LOT left in the car with boltons with swapping gears, intake, skinnies, looser converter, etc... So I have a lot of time to play with it to get it where I want it.

LSCHLEM 11-06-2010 12:02 PM

Congrats Floyd, sounds like there is a lot more in it. How about another .3 and 4 or 5 mph. I got a PORTED FAST 92 you may be interested in. give me a PM . Leon

yea its going to be a long shot but its worth a try, and i dont think i can really go over the 50 shot out of the hole with out blowin the tires off. the 10.999 is one of my goals also and im going out tonight to try and break it, we got some nice cool weather tonight so i should be close if i dont get it.

FloydSummerOf68 11-06-2010 12:07 PM

Thanks Leon.

There certainly is a lot left...I definitely didn't go out expecting to make the best pass on the first night with a new mod. It usually doesn't happen like that, ha ha.

If I can pull an 11.5 how it sits now I think I'll be in a good position to start shooting for my goal of 10s with just boltons. My home track is one of the quickest tracks in the world (HRP) so I have that going for me :)

I just need to get my setup just right and hit it when it's seeing a -1500 DA night

I think you will make the 10's w persistence. I have the same idea. I got the HP and the DR's, however I have a $2,500 Clutch install staring me in the face. Good Luck , Leon

Stingbill 11-06-2010 01:07 PM

Nice runs !!! Keep us updated ...

hungryhippo 11-06-2010 01:18 PM

those are very nice times indeed. that's a great 60' for those tires as well.

ITS STOCK 11-06-2010 02:17 PM

Congrats thats good times. I am running similar times with similar mods but with a 6mn. If you run m/t's you should have no problem cutting 1.6's and going 11.5's. With a Fast you should be in the low 11's at about 121-122mph.

glennhl 11-06-2010 03:25 PM

AWESOME!!!! That converter really helps. I like it that you proved that headers are headers even if they are made in China!
