Edelbrock's ProFlo fuel injection system, why not so popular among C4 crowd ?
I Have a friend who owns a 89 TPI Camaro, i love TPI i love my Super Ram and everything about TPI, yesterday we were talking about it and he told me he is sick of it and all the wires and injectors and he likes carbed cars better ,he is strongly considering and "upgrade" from TPI to this ProFlo system,he is telling me all the gains and power that he is supposedly going to pick up with this intake/injection , i really have no idea i did a research to find out its not so popular at all , plus he says they are supercharger-ready ,it sounds like they made them to easily fit a supercharger or something. Any of you guys has messed around with this Pro Flo intake ??? Thanks ! |
i found this ...which is very interesting

If you want a single plane style intake you just buy a Victor E intake http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-29785/ ( or weld injector bungs into any intake as many have done ) and use all your stock control gear. Some use a Pro Flow style 4bbl TB ; some run a right angle hat that allows use of stock style TB http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u...e/P1010059.jpg

Tested against a HSR ( or Miniram ) that works in a similar rev range would have been better comparison Check out http://xtremecarzone.com.au/index.php?showtopic=386 to see comparison of intake operating ranges Look at were the HP drops off on the graphs for each style intake Given the ProFlow XT price is similar to a HSR ; a HSR would be a better ( cheaper ) choice because it doesn't require a special TB because it uses a stock style TB |
