Carbon Edition Z MSRP
|
Not much more than a 3LZ Z06.
|
I've seen very low milage used ZR1's for around that dollar.
|
if a loaded carbon is $99925, and you can spec a Z with 3LZ/Z07/CFZ to over $100,000, what is the Carbon missing?
|
No surprise really. We had had all figured it would be in that price range and not much less than a ZR1

Good luck getting yours hands on one outside of the secondary market. This is GM's way of getting rid of their final production C6's. Slap a couple of stickers on it, call it a limited edition and people will buy them. Just marketing if you ask me.

Those wheels are so gawd awful ugly! :ack: Makes the car look old and slow. For that kind of jack Chevy should have given it decent looking wheels. :yesnod: The chrome spyder wheels should be standard equipment. |
I'd be surprised if there aren't "new" Carbons floating around for years to come.
|
If my business was doing better I would love to have a Carbon Zhttp://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...rican_flag.jpg

Really? What can you get on a Carbon that you can't get on a Z07?
"The Corvette Z06 Carbon will surely be an instant collectible," said Jim Campbell, U.S. Vice President, Chevrolet Marketing. "For that reason, we see Barrett-Jackson as the premiere venue to sell the first retail Z06 Carbon." The interior is available in any color as long as it’s black and is accented by a unique Z06 Carbon emblem on the steering wheel, as well as special sill plates and embossed head rests for the seats. Dark faux suede material is used in abundance, with the steering wheel, shifter, seat inserts, armrests, and door panels covered in the stuff. Navigation and the Vette’s leather-upgrade package are the only options, with the latter including blue or orange French stitching, depending on the exterior color. The Carbon edition is essentially a Z06 built on a ZR1 chassis, with several ZR1 carbon fiber body panels. The Z06 Carbon does have one feature you can't get on even the ZR1 -- a unique hood that is similar to the one on the ZR1 but without the ZR1's transparent window. Most of the carbon fiber body pieces that are left unpainted on the ZR1 are painted black on the Z06 Carbon. Notable features of the Z06 Carbon include Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, Michelin PS2 tires, Magnetic Ride Control and enhanced cooling. Black headlamps and mirrors, a ZR1-style body color spoiler, body color door handles, carbon fiber raised hood, and black carbon fiber rockers and splitter enhance the Z06's dynamic design and reduce mass and aerodynamic lift. “For track use, the Z06 Carbon is the best balanced Corvette yet. It combines the lightweight and naturally-aspirated Z06 engine with the road-holding and braking of the ZR1,” said Tadge Juechter, Corvette Chief Engineer. The glossy black highlights on the Carbon make the car look menacing, and it is, capable of lapping Laguna Seca raceway a full three seconds a lap faster than the standard Z06. This limited edition Z06 will boast Brembo carbon ceramic brakes with specific dark gray metallic calipers. These powerful brakes were first introduced on the ZR1. Black 20-spoke 19-inch front/20-inch rear wheels complement the car’s Michelin PS2 tires. Other mechanical features include Magnetic Selective Ride Control for the first time on the Z06 and enhanced cooling. The car also features a special carbon pattern engine cover. GM says the Carbon’s lighter-but-more-robust equipment, such as the larger brakes and rolling stock, means the Z06’s curb weight stays the same at a still-feathery 3150 pounds, or about 200 fewer than the ZR1’s. The added grip and stability, however, translate into the Carbon being a claimed three seconds faster than the standard Z06 around both the company’s Milford, Michigan, proving grounds and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in California. |

Yeah, I know. I just figure for a car that spends most of its time on the street it ought to be an option when you are dropping $100k. the P car folks will give you a targa/cabriolet in just about any of their models and the same for the dancing horse crowd. It's all conjecture for me anyway with one in college and one more to go:lol: I'll keep my slow, old base model:lol:
 |
