Is Ken his brother or something ?

jaki30 05-09-2015 12:41 PM

Ken is the man

Ken Fichtner owned the dealership Dennis worked for. I believe they are related. Ken sold the dealership and is now working at another dealership.
Getting ready to buy my third GMEPP from him.
Best prices I have found and great service.

He sells them at huge discounts to forum members only. I shopped all the forum vendors and several others as well, and he beat everyone's price by several hundred dollars. He doesn't advertise his prices and this is a word of mouth deal only.

:iagree:Got my from him..

Where can I find the best price, and how much should it cost please?

Is this the "only" extended warranty you would recommend?

Thanks for your help !!! :flag:

One of our members, "RichieRichZ06", who supports this forum and works for Abel Chevrolet in Rio Vista, CA who also supports WSCC and this forum will match any out there. He can make the sale on the phone like I did for my GS.

Call Abel Chevrolet and ask for Rich Wilhoff...

Ken now works for Menholt Chevrolet in Billings MT.
His email is kfichtner@dennymenholt.com
406-896-3088(office)
406-672-5690(cell)
Dennis did not make the switch. He now sells RVs.

froggy47 07-16-2015 03:05 PM

What is the RANGE of prices for a zero deduct plan?

I just called Fitchner in MT (now called Rim Rock Chevy). The receptionist would not transfer my call to whoever actually sells the plan. She would not give me a range for pricing, insisting on a vin # etc.

I haven't bought the car yet, just want to know APPROXIMATELY what the ext warr go for now.

I bought one on my 2004 from the guy in Louisiana and it worked out well, IIRC it was about 1k price.

These folks at Rim Rock Chevy could not seem to get their minds around the idea that a guy might like to know what the plans cost BEFORE he buys a car. What a concept!

Anyway if anyone can give me a range for a 2011-2013 c6z low miles I would be grateful.

:)

prices from $945 to about $5K depending on what you want

RagTop69 07-19-2015 11:56 AM

So, if you put the $945-$5,000 in some other investment and self insured your Corvette, do you think you'd come out ahead? This is insurance being sold by a guy who works for the current owners of his old Chevrolet dealership and/or his cousin who is selling RVs now as a means of paying the bills. Extended warranties are, by their nature, a bad deal. Unless you own a crap barge of a car or you treat your car with little care, you shouldn't be putting thousands of dollars into maintenance. That's why the companies that offer these warranties are in business. They are willing to accept the bet that most of the cars won't have major problems and they will not have to pay out to the insured. If it wasn't a proposition that favored the insurer, they wouldn't be in the business. It's a matter of accepting the risk that your Corvette won't fall apart in the future vs. throwing money at it to make yourselves feel better. Save your money.

I get this argument & have made the same argument many times regarding warranty on tv's, etc.

Real world experience, on my 96 lt4 the gas tank developed pin hole leaks. I paid about $900 for the warranty & it covered a $2500 (full cost) bill.

On my 2004 z I paid about $1250 for warranty & it ended up covering about $3000 in (full customer pay) bills.

On my 2007 BMW I did NOT get the insurance (was quoted $4000 - should tell you something about BMW reliability) and by the time it had 60k miles I needed to spend about $5000 (full customer pay) IF I had kept it to fix several problems - I traded in the car on a Lexus - one of the smartest moves I ever did, that's another thread.

So my personal, real experience is they are worth it.

I had it on a couple of other cars & never regretted it (paid for itself). And I am very meticulous in my care for cars & I keep them a long time. Past what the ext warr is.
