the best shocks for comfort/control

I am living in the dfw area and the roads are terrible as compared with the blacktop roads back east that i am used to. My car rides like a buckboard wagon. What would be the best shocks to try and save my kidneys from any further damage. I believe the car has a well worn set of zo6 shocks on it now and there seems to be no control at all of the damping duties. The car is downright scary in a fast sweeper if there is any variation to the road surface. I was thinking of getting a set of bilstiens. Sound like i'm on the right track? Thanks.

I have C6 Z06 shocks on my 02Z and it's the best mod I've done....my OEM's with 62k were due to be replaced.I would suggest these.

Approx $250 from Gene at GMpartshouse.com

I am in the same boat..I plan on lowering as well. I am leaning towards the bilsteins HD's instead of the sports for ride comfort. I have heard good reviews on the c6z shocks, but bilsteins come with a lifetime warranty for only 50 bucks more. :bigears

Similar issue that I am facing (in DFW also). I have 111,000 on what I assume are the original Z51 shocks. The ride is very rough. After reading other posts on the forum and sending a couple pm's I decided to order the C6 Z06 shocks. They are firmer than the Z51's were when they were new, but still better than completely shot Z51's.

Get the C6 ZO6 shocks from Gene and you will not be sorry.

what are the part numbers to be looking for on that?

I live in the Dallas area as well and am looking to get shocks soon. I am looking at the c6z06 shocks or the Bilsten HD. Does anyone know which is better? Stock Vette, no mods.

Anybody thats used both want to chime in. I'd love to hear a comparison of the 2.

Bilstein quality is excellent and they have a lifetime guarantee. C6Z06 shocks are probably a good choice but the longevity of these shocks will probably be much lower than the Bilsteins. At least if the Bilsteins fail, you will get free repair or replacements.

Anyone got anything to say about shock fade, construction, etc...
