No one warned me

Finally got my Nitto NT-01's mounted, balanced and on my C5. Drove it home from the tire dealer and I could swear that hail was hitting the wheel wells. I know now why some racers use painter's tape to cover the undersides, wheel wells, etc. of their cars when running "race" rubber.

Wait until you actually get them hot and drive through pebbles or sand...

Wait until you come off the track with them hot and then they cool with every peeble molded in. Really rough on the painted garage floor.

Wait till you take out all the carpet. It sounds like someone shooting BBs
into your wheel well

the bumper on my 02 Camaro SS looks to be sand blasted from my NT-01's :yup: I was in the canyons a while back with some Porsches, Lotus, and Maserati...I went last because I didn't want to sand blast anyone, well, they were holding me up going hella slow :o so they told me to go by them next stop..they later thanked me for giving them a reason for getting a new paint job  They weren't pissed at all (which relieved me) and were happy they finally had a reason for new paint :)

It will do bad things to the aluminum floor in a trailer too.

I had a clump of rubber in my wheel well. It was caught on the lip and probably the size of a softball. :willy:
