heard a corvette that sound sortta like a ferrari
 

I was driving around the other day when a corvette pulls up next to me in a c4. When the guy took off. it sounded pretty sweet like a ferrari or lambo. i was wondering if any of you guys might have any idea on what kind of exhaust that guy had. I didnt get a chance to ask.

Sombodys got to have a idea of a exhaust system that sound like a ferrari.??

If it had a set of 180* headers it would sound like an expensive import.

(I'm not trying to say my car sounds like a Ferrari, just posting a known example for comparison purposes)

I have flowmasters on mine. I think mine sounds more like a 1960s muscle car than a Ferrari. The one you saw probably had a corsa type exhaust and the engine is likely modified. A C4 stock engine can't rev high enough to get a good Ferrari sound.

Corsa systems have a tinny, Euro sound....and if it's bolted up under a ZR-1, now you're talking!!!

Power effects or the old desert development systems sound kinda like what you described. No real way to mimic the ferrari sound though you got a 2 valve pushrod motor.

Who said a C4 can't turn 7000+ RPM? :cheers:

Agreed. The Ferrari also has a 180 degree flat crankshaft. I have a 78 308GTS as well, and my 92 C4 has a much deeper sound at lower RPM's than the Ferrari but can really sound great at it gets up there. The Ferrari starts out pretty tame and then starts to scream over 5,000 rpms. They are both wonderful cars, and I wish the Ferrari had my Corvette's brakes!

Maybe it was a kit car but just the reverse of the one on Miami Vice, someone put a C4 body on a Ferrari chassis. :rofl:

there was a vid of a 180 degree'd header C5 that sounded exotic, but since there is no way that you could ever package pipes like that on a C4, I'll second the motion that it could have been the unique sound the LT5 makes.

It's so strange that you never see this... I wonder why.

There's few sounds better to my ears, than an LT5 at 7000 rpm, breathing through a Corsa exhaust.
