My Drivers side door?? Pics

Hello all. Another Saturday and I am still looking for what blows my Crsy/Radio fuse. Today I decided to have a look at whats going on inside my drivers side door.

Top looking downward:

Noticed this green wire not plugged into anything. Looks to be attached to the Wiper control switch.

Found this black wire too

Strange orange wire:

Of course I left my Multimeter at work!!! arrggh!
At least I know there are things awry in there.

I hit return too fast.

The Vette is a 1986 base coupe.
As you can see the door panels are in terrible condition. If anyone has a clue what my mystery wires are it will be greatly appreciated.

As note the first pic is the present condition of the door panel before I even tried to remove it!

Somebody rewired something in there.
Hopefully someone can post the fsm schematics for you to trace those wires.

I would check the wires in the area I've circled in red. There is something going on there, wires are worn through or they are corroded or something. Check that area out.

If the power antenna motor goes bad, it will cause that fuse to blow. It's on the same circuit.

The orange wire with the blue and yellow crimp connectors is definitely not stock. I agree you need a wiring diagram to trace everything out. The interior lighting circuits are pretty elaborate.

The orange wire is crimped to another wire. What's the
color code on the other wire.

I pulled the aftermarket stereo as well the rats nest of DIY wiring. Everything at the stereo is back to stock as far as I can tell now.

As for the the antenna which is up a 1/4 of the way. I noticed all of the wires have been snipped.

Not strange. The Lock wire between the two power door
lock switches is black, at least on an '87. The unlock
wire is Lt Blue.

Yes, it's weird for anything but a ground wire to be black.

Yea, got it. Weirdness being the strange orange wire crimped onto the black wire. I always figured my car being a base had manual door locks. As there is not a door lock button or switch in the interior.
