This is a Dyno sheet of a BONE Stock C5 Before and After :)

http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z...f?t=1254509169

The A&A Supercharger kit brings you dramatic increases in power while not degrading everyday drivability or highway gas mileage! The system utilizes a large blow off valve that remains open at cruise and light throttle. This, essentially, allows the supercharger to “freewheel” under normal conditions, reducing parasitic loss to less than that of an alternator.

A naturally aspirated engine would require higher compression, a very aggressive camshaft, high flow cylinder heads with heavy duty valvetrain, exhaust headers with free flowing exhaust, larger throttle body, high flow intake manifold, free flowing air filter housing and duct, etc. Most of these parts are NOT emissions legal. The price of these components alone is higher than a supercharger system. The labor to install these is also much higher. Then there are the inherent problems brought to the vehicle by such a build. A large camshaft all but ruins everyday drivability AND gas mileage. Driving in traffic becomes a very trying experience. A stick shift car will buck and surge and an automatic car will be hard to hold back because of the increased idle speed required. Low speed torque is reduced with an aggressive camshaft which will require lower differential gearing and a high speed stall torque converter (automatic cars) to make up for it. This further degrades drivability and gas mileage. With all the components required for a high performance naturally aspirated car, the degradation in drivability and gas mileage, the total inability of the vehicle to pass emissions tests and the added expenditure, the vehicle would STILL have up to 100HP less than a stock Corvette with one of our standard systems bolted on.

Average increase TO THE REAR WHEELS is approximately 175 RWHP! No other modification, in this price range, even comes close.

A&A Corvette Performance manufactures top quality supercharger systems exclusively for C5 (1997- 2004) and C6 (2005- 2010) Corvettes including Z06.

Our systems have evolved into the most efficient and cost effective superchargers available today.

How does the LS2 stock bottom end hold up to this system? I owned a 2005 Mustang GT with a Vortec Supercharger. It left this earth with 12,000 miles on it. It lived hard and died young. I was able to save the dipstick. That was with 6lbs of boost. I really want to hop mine up but not that again. Will the stock crank pulley handle the extra load on the LS2?

2005-2010 Mustangs have very week rods and pistons, block and crank is great but the max. safe number is about 450RWHP.. any more than that and your just asking for trouble.

The LS2 bottom end is pretty stout... 540RWHP all day long on a bone stock car.

JPN7075U 03-18-2011 05:06 PM

Yeah a few of those rods came out to see daylight! So if I drove my LS2 normally with just a taste of boost now and then it would have no effect on engine life?

Questions: What is the life of the supercharger? Does it whine (I hope so)? Do belts last a long time? Intake backfires a problem with a plastic intake? The crank pulley ok with the extra load? How many days does it take? I live in Riverside CA and would need to solve the logistics? Do you take jet engines in trade?

Yeah but no 40 boost hoses and oil lines. Hey where are your air cleaners? 40 foot intake lines to the front? That would make 4 firehoses and two oil lines running the car length?

If you want to give me your plane for a supercharger and install I would take it..hahah

Life of the Supercharger is pretty long... Vortech has been making these superchargers for a LONG time and we don't see many pre-mature failures. Yes it does whine. Belts when installed properly will last like normal belts... we've had no issues. Crank Pulley is fine because they are pinned. It takes about 3-4 days for the install and tune.

If you want to come up for a install I will loan you a car while you are up here and you can go check out some of the pretty cool sites. We're 30 minutes from Santa Cruz :)

Mike you getting into the Travel business now?

When do you sleep?

J/K...

It would make for a exciting week for someone out of town. The trip home would be rewarding too.

Sounds pretty awesome!

Would the performance numbers be pretty much in line with the ZR1?

I'm not a big fan of noise and vibration in normal cruising and at idle. While the blower is freewheeling, is there any increase in noise or vibration over stock?

How bulletproof is it? It would be quite a drive to have it looked at it if it is temperamental.
